Got it on a whim after seeing it was only 10 dollars on steam and hearing that its surprisingly good.

Just finished first chapter of playing as V. Not sure I like his mechanics yet but Nero was a lot of fun!

Hoping to get to my man Dante soon

So fantastic, the combat mechanics are out of this world.

V takes a little getting used to but I did enjoy his gameplay in the end.

The game is definitely excellent. Best since DMC3.

Yeah I had my first SS with him and all I was doing was button mashing ranged and melee with one finger while reading my book >.>

Integrating the giant monster is the key for the really satisfying combos imo but yeah I still don't really consider myself to have "figured him out" lol.

Just saying that I eventually understood it well enough to at least sorta get what was happening and that made it feel like I wasn't just mashing buttons. (Even if I maybe was doing just that, calculated mashing is a thing!)

I know this is vague but I haven't played the game in almost two years now. Just saying I'm sure he'll grow on you more as you play. I appreciate that he feels very different.

V feels like mashing a bit when starting but he absolutely gets a rhythm as you progress and gain more stuff with him, very fun

Poor non-Dante characters. Whenever youre playing as one, youre just wondering when Dante will come back.

V is a bit weird but yeah, he does get to be pretty fun. Dante and Nero in this are legit peak gameplay in the genre.

A game with too many playable characters. Will they ever make another DMC game with only Dante to play as?

Great game.

Nero's kit is so frigging good, as is Dante's. V isn't quite all the way there but I appreciate what they did do with him and I hope they refine the concept further.

Fun fact - the original game is the only one where Dante was actually the best in combat. His sidekicks always get broken shit.

He's the best in DMC4 and DMC5 imo.

DMC3 Vergil is clearly better

Nero is my personal favorite in 5, but they nailed all the playable characters in it

I will always be a Vergil-preferred player ever since DMC3.

Nero is so much more fun than Dante ever since 4. But 5 does make Dante really damn good... but Nero even better.

Haven't actually played DMC4SE so don't know about Vergil. Don't agree with Nero being better than Dante in DMC4 or DMC5 though-- maybe I just find Dante more intuitive though as I've played DMC3 more than the rest of the series combined.
