All my school taught us was if you have sex youll have a pregnancy and get HIV. That was it.

All boys were separated from the girls

We learned about puberty for boys and how everything works

Very basic lesson that "mixing that shit in your pants with a girl makes a baby"

And that was about it

Fairly okay? Like, it was fairly progressive, mostly the teachers struggles of having to say if you do it use a condom even even though the school makes me say no sex allowed.

Some guys from a local church group came in and lectured about how abstinence was the only way. There was some kind of demonstration where they had a girl spit in a cup of water and told everyone that if she passed it around and people drank out of it, it was kind of like if they had sex with her and got an STD.

In other words, I didn't have a sex education.

Boys and girls were separated. We learned about erections and pubes and testicular cancer and how the penis goes into the vagina. Girls learned about boobs and periods and pregnancy. We learned a little bit about the other side, but it was really glossed over. I remember thinking how dumb it was that we were watching stuff about dicks when all the guys really wanted to see the boob stuff lol

Schools in the north: ideally you should wait for sex til you are older and can handle a baby. But if you must, use a condom

Schools in the south: do not have sex at all until you are married or burn in hell

I was just left wondering why they were seemingly trying to discourage teen pregnancies yet were teaching us exactly how pregnancy occurs. In retrospect, that was my first real big clue that I was asexual. Didn't understand then what caused people to partake in this risky behavior for a kid they supposedly didn't want, and I still pretty much don't understand it now either.

My year 6 teacher was a 70+ year old psycho who would of still used the cane if it wouldnt have sent her to prison so yeah it wasnt great. Year 9 I was in a Catholic school and it was part of RE (Religious Education) buy thankfully my RE teacher was a legend and did it properly.

I really don't remember any sort of actual sex ed when I was growing up.

In high school we were taught about both reproductive systems, STDs, and various methods of safe sex.

Considering how conservative the area is, it was a decent education.

Public school in south east Michigan, 5th through 9th grade so 1995-2000 for me.

Started with the technical stuff like it was any other science class (zygotes, gonads, and cellular meiosis) then on to an awkward as hell video I guess we were supposed to relate to where kids shared their boner stories with one saying he talked to his penis "you will go down, you will go down." By 8th grade it was pictures of STDs and a video with a live birth.

Boys in one class, girls in another and then we would switch and I assume get the same lessons.

I was in a non-religious school in western Europe, so I had regular sex ed, without seperating boys from girls. It wasn't a big deal, especially since pretty much everyone had gone through that entire chapter in the textbook on their own by then lol).

No morality preaching either, just the importance of doing it responsibly, safely and consensually

I literally had a dream when I was young about walking in on a girl who was changing and I surprised her so much that she peed out her butt

One day as a young teen I was watching porn and it still took a dozen videos before I realized there was two holes

School was a little bit better but I didn't really have any building blocks to work off of. I think the gist of it was don't have sex but if you have to use a condom, also having sex gives you STDs

Barely remember. We werent separated, went through the body parts, stds, safe sex, saw an animated movie about sex and masturbation, and we got to put a condom on this thing.

They brought up five students, and gave them chocolate, and said "you can eat this now or wait a little while". A couple of students did.

He did a short lecture on STDs, and then revealed that one of the chocolates was a laxative. It was to show that 1 in 5 people get STDs. We all thought it was hilarious.

I didn't learn until later that this technically counts as poisoning kids

Interesting method, though it seems to me it would make more sense if they have knowledge of one of the chocolates being a laxative before being presented with the option of eating it.

it was a whole day. a female teacher and a gym male coach ran the class. boys and girls split up for a few hours then the rest together. gym coach was pretty much the enforcer and right off the top he said no giggling or youre bounced outta class with some other shit piled on to your punishment. it was 90% videos.

our coach was a huge asshole. he got fired for lifting a kid up and pinning him to a gym wall and choking the shit out of him. so ya it was a bone dry class.

90% STDs
I don't remember the rest but they didn't teach us how to use a condom so I can't imagine it was educational. They absolutely didn't teach us anything regarding the opposite sex(Outside of them getting pregnant).

They split up the boys and girls. For us it was mostly videos. I remember one where it was mostly a video of boys and girls going to the bowling alley and the narrator was insinuating that sex was necessary for the survival of the species but we were too young. Peppered in by a comment by our gym coach "see physically you're ready but mentally and financially you're not". They didn't teach us about condoms or birth control or anything, it was pretty much abstinence based.

We asked the girls what they were being taught and they said their videos were way more graphic, including watching a video of how to put a condom on a fully erect penis, no bananas in that class lol.

And that's basically all I remember. It was 7th grade science class where we actually studied the reproductive system and the human anatomy. And the internet and word of mouth from the students talking to each other filled in the rest of the gaps.

For 7th grade, my mom temporarily put me in the closest school to home while she looked for a Magnet School. And, the closest school just so happened to be a Catholic school.

So my sex education was "if you have sex before marriage you'll go to hell". They even took us on a field trip to another school where these college students were putting on a play about how great abstinence was >_>

We were taught abstinence is the best option, but had a full breakdown of various contraceptives, full explanation of the anatomy of both sexes, different types of sex acts were discussed briefly, and there was a full, graphic std slide show that parents could opt their kids out of.

So fairly rigorous I guess.

All this focus on abstinence with little to no mention of actual sex ed would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing.

I went to Catholic Elementary school, so the "sex education" was more just bracing us for puberty.

Actual sex/reproductive stuff was learned in 9th grade health class.

As far as what to actually do when you want to have sex, I honestly learned from watching porn.
