Only took $375 for the first 5* gem. The second came at $9500.

I got one in $1125 spent.

I actually got diablo immortal and threw like a hundred bucks at it.

Surprisingly good to someone who's never played diablo before. I don't think I'm anywhere near the point where I need to do all the gem stuff (you do get a really small amount of those gems though) although, you don't really need that many from my experience? Just your set and other ones to destroy to level up yours more.

Realistically it's a fun casual mobile game if you are willing to spend real game money.

Diablo is all about loot fountains after a boss and they have that shit pay walled

Idk what game you've been playing, but when i defeat a boss, a metric fuck ton of stuff drops, usually much better than the equipment that I had.

Also, the only thing Diablo has ever been about is being a casual RNG procedurally generated dungeon crawler.

There's a big difference between gear that drops after a boss in Diablo 2 or 3 and the gear that drops in this mobile game

I spent 4,325 for the first, and 11,550 for the second.

Took forever to get my first one ($5,000), but then I got 6 in the next $10K. I hate gacha stuff, though.

You can, but it takes a lot. For standard gems 3 1*s of the same color make a 2*. 3 2*s make a 3*. Etc. There are 3 colors. To max out, you'd need like 3 gems on each secondary equipment. So like 15 I think

For the rarer gems that fit in your main equipment, it's similar but you don't necessarily need the same color gems. A 1* is worth 1 upgrade point. A 2* is worth 4. You need one point to get to 2*, 5 to 3*. I think 10 to 4*. I've got one 3*. To max out you'd need 5

You'll see pretty regular progression from just playing normally. The upgrade you get from normal gems is like 8 points per level per gem. For reference, I get 20 just from a paragon level boost. The rare gems are harder to quantify because they don't necessarily do flat stats. They'll be like cool effects sometimes

I have said this before but we need a class of games thats considered luxury class games and judge appropriately based on the audience its targeting. We dont judge a BMW based on its price tag compared to consumer class cars, we judge it based on what it offers as a luxury class product and the customers that are their intended targets. Luxury class games like Gran Turismo 7 or Diablo Immortal arent meant to be compared to pleb games like Elden Ring where $60 gives you access to a full experience, thats for people who can only afford to drive a Toyota. For its actual intended audience Diablo Immortal is a great game, being able to spend thousands of dollars on loot boxes to better your character only enhances the experience.

This is actually a distinct difference between Immortal and the main series. But I actually really like it. They are taking a page out of FFXIV's book, which maintains a nice community by making partying for dungeons necessary to progress.

Means that everyone needs to know how to work together and do more complex sequences if they get past a certain level.
