What a steaming pile of BS! Ill tell you what, it really helps to have motivation. I finally quit when I was diagnosed with heart disease. To be fair though I had cut down to 2 cigs. a day a couple of years before.

My motivation was, I loaded up a fresh cartridge at 9pm one night while on my computer, noticed it was my last one and said to myself..."fuck this, it's too expensive".

I put the vape down, and just didn't touch it again. There were cravings the first couple of days that were easy to ignore, after that it was smooth sailing.

This was after smoking for over half a decade, then replacing it with vaping for another few years, which make indulging in nicotine much eaiser/made it more of a habit.

Your individual anecdotal experience does not encompass the entire field of addiction, and acting like it does makes you look like both a moron and a jackass.

I mean, the one thing everyone "knows" about smoking is how difficult it is to quit, right?

You don't think constantly beating the idea into people that smoking is so insanely hard to quit makes it artificially harder to quit than it actually is?

I mean, I've heard smokers parrot the line that smoking is harder to quit than heroin. You ever see someone smash a car window or mug someone for a cigarette fix?

The whole idea of making people believe smoking is so hard to quit is to stop people from trying.

Or the effects of nicotine are understood, and you're exchanging the chicken with the egg because you don't bother with a 5 minute google search to figure things out.

Genetics and mental disorders play a strong role in the broad category of willpower. What you're saying is a lot like telling someone with depression to cheer up or get over it.

not really. all you have to do is go a week or two without smoking and you can, indeed, get over it. that's not the case with depression
