It's a 2.5d side scrolling metroidvania, and it's a really fun game. You get the switch between different characters, and one of them has a fighting style that really reminds me of Kos-Mos, and the whole demo really makes me think of the beginning of Xenosaga Episode 1.

Like the topic says, there's a demo, and you can play it here. Sadly it's only coming to the PC:

Sorry to dissapoint you @judgmenl but hey, this very much feels like a spiritual successor to Xenosaga

edit: Also, there's a xenosaga like cutscene in the demo! voice acting is japanese sadly, but it's exciting!

Even the blonde character's animations look like Miriam's. And having multiple characters on-screen looks to work similarly to Portrait of Ruin.

Dunno why you thought of Xenosaga. This is styled after Igavanias (which, great, my kind of game, but still).

@Gaawa_chan again, play the demo and you'll see. But just so you know, the demo is temporary. It's going away tomorrow morning.

It's an entirely different genre of gameplay, an entirely different art style (aside from being very broadly "anime-like"), nothing indicates that they have similar stories... "This one character kind of reminds me of Kos-Mos" really isn't equivalent to "This feels like a spiritual successor to Xenosaga."

More than that, it's pretty much exactly the same art style. There are lots of 2.5D games that don't look exactly like Bloodstained. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since Bloodstained was great and looked fantastic, but there are definitely some major similarities there.

The chicks get the Lolita wear, whereas the dude gets the gas mask & weird Arab head scarf thing. Sucks for him I guess. Too uncool to get the ikeman treatment.
