Have you played Frozen Synapse (it's a shooter, but hol'up)... I always thought a racing game in the style of Frozen Synapse would be pretty nifty

It's like a decade old now but if you haven't played Driver: San Francisco it's awesome and holds up pretty well

there was that fast and furious game that was supposedly janky but pretty fun which came out i think last year

Not exactly action, but Forza Horizon 5 is basically an open world action racing game. And its incredible.

I was just thinking the other day that I'd like if they came out with a good new game a la the old Ridge Racer or Need For Speed games, where there's a story mode where the races tie into an overarching plot.

Games like Gran Turismo can be fun, but just playing games for times/to climb division brackets don't really keep my attention all that long. Most games don't really keep my interest anymore unless there's an interesting story or strong characters/character interaction.

I always find it a shame that there's an emphasis on sim-style play for racing games (and space exploration games). Those are both genres where I'd prefer more arcade-y play combined with an unfolding narrative (oh how I mourn for the old Wing Commander games).

For me its achievements/goals. Such as, with CoD I can play everyday and hours a day at that, but the second I unlock the camo for unlocking all other camos I stop playing almost immediately. I will play maybe, maybe 3-5 games with all my gear as that camo but then I'm done with that game.

Same thing other games as well.
