Odds are one of the hits is what attracted you to a band, but you hear the same 3 or 4 songs on the radio all the time, so you're bored of them. Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands of all time, but I barely listen to the Paranoid album because that's like THE hits album and you can only hear Paranoid, Iron Man and War Pigs so many times before you're tired of them . My favorite Who album is The Who Sell Out. I used to work with a guy with a major hipster complex he would talk about all the bands he used to like but lost interest in because they "made it" and he had gotten to the point (at the time I knew him) where all the stuff he listened to was basically difficult for me to acknowledge as music it was like he was intentionally listening to stuff so awful no one would ever like it.
