There is this weird thing I have noticed during the news footage surrounding Johnson's Confidence Vote.

Why are they slapping the table like unruly school-aged children? That kind of behaviour within a body of government really does not instill confidence in me...

the better question is how did he win when, by all metrics, he should have lost very, very hard

tbf most of the parliamentary debate isnt really like that, if you watch bbc parliament its mostly just dry speeches and questions

the table slapping and cheering and jeering is mostly used for things like pmqs or an event (like the no confident vote) where they know a lot of the public will be watching. its kind of show offy, but is there to give a public support of the prime minister by the backbenchers when he or she is in trouble, or to try and get the public on their side by making themselves look strong and the opposition look weak. but i agree its silly and i dont think anyone really buys it

regardless, he won by a very small margin which history shows is the beginning of the end. similar pms who have survived no confidence votes by those kind of margins have resigned within months as noone can lead a party which is so openly disloyal to them and fractured. despite his desperate attempt to cling on to the job, i reckon he'll be gone by the end of the year.

All turned alcoholics due to Boris and his then illegal parties.

Because they essentially are unruly school-aged children, and fail to instill confidence in the British Public (or indeed most people, apart from die-hard fanatics).

Tradition, it carries over to lots of other countries too.
