I love how the start of this season is all about reminding you how fucking broken everyone is.

The guy playing young Giancarlo Esposito in episode 3 is awful in a so bad it's good way.

Stronger start than the first few of S2.

I have to say that I was honestly not a huge fan of season 2, especially the back half, but these three episodes were just riveting - EXCEPT the extremely rushed, off-screen death of Stormfront. I think that Stormfront, from the beginning was carried entirely on the acting. The writing just couldn't weave something juicy out of the character last season. That said, the slow rollout of Soldier Boy has been intriguing. I have to say that I'm most intrigued by M.M. so far this season as well. Can't wait to see where his story goes.

I have to give them credit for making somehow feel bad for the literal nazi, but it was kinda heartbreaking for her to finally realize how awful Homelander truly is. She had previously talked about how everyone she had never known and loved was dead, but she finally found Homelander and he would lead them. When she finally accepted how much of a narcissistic, self-absorbed psychopath with not even a thought about her lifelong vision, she realized she had absolutely nothing.

So the Deep State has officially made it into the Boys.

I mean I know it was in the previews but the Kendall Jenner Pepsi reference was fucking great.

I'm 90% certain Supersonic is gonna betray them.

Welp I was wrong. Fucking stupid-ass Supersonic trusting A-Train. I was also hoping we were heading towards a redemption arc with A-Train but I guess not.

So yeah, the biggest thing with these first four episodes vs. the struggles of season 2 (which I did love in the end) was just that they're finally bringing important plot points to a head and there feels like real stakes.

Hughie's smirk as he "enjoys" his powers is a great touch in how he's spent so much time seemingly helpless but also to feed the addictive nature of superpowers.

I liked season 2 a good bit (largely due to Aya Cash just being incredible in every scene she was in) but season 3 so far just cannot miss, every episode has had fantastic action and terrifying gore and some really cool twists

Next to Barry this might be my favorite show running right now

Don't think she will. I think if you plan on killing off an important character, you do it as the episode ending. Dragging it out to another episode is just a tease.

Oh hey, didn't see this topic until now. This show is phenomenal. Man seeing Supersonic's gory, fucked up body at the end really caught me off guard last episode. Like it took me a while after it ended to get over it lol. I also totally thought he was gonna have a heel turn moment and end up being a douche but oops.

Btw I absolutely love the parallels between Homelander and Soldier Boy. Having Homelander question if Maeve ever truly loved him and when answering in the negative, immediately commenting on her aging, then have Soldier Boy make the exact same comment ("You haven't aged at all." "You have." Or whatever it was) shows that Huey and Butcher are literally just replacing the devil they know with the devil they don't. Even Crimson says she never loved him and that she even hated him, just like Maeve.

Yeah I got that same vibe! None of this is gonna end good. This episode was a lot of set up of the future and had a sad tone about it.

I thought it was the season finale too but I'm so glad it's not!

Gal Gadot's "Imagine" video being absolutely destroyed was the high point of the series in terms of comedy. I have not laughed so hard in a long time.

Yeah the show has always been very satirical but this season both the imagine video and the Pepsi ad are just them straight up mocking and taking shots at Hollywood. I love it.

also love the callback to Ant-Man/Atom getting into more sex shenanigans, and finally getting his fate by just getting stepped on

I'm just so so so so glad Annie stuck by her guns here. I was getting a bit frustrated with Huey/Annie's relationship falling apart because I felt Annie was being a bit unreasonable, but when Huey finally revealed that it wasn't about protecting her but rather his own insecurities and weaknesses, Annie finally trying to do things "the right way" even at the expense of her own safety was a great twist.

So, I kinda suspected the plot twist of Soldier Boy being Homelander's father so I wasn't too shocked.

It was also interesting to see Butcher's past and understanding of who the man he is today, yet when given a chance to finally avoid hurting yet another innocent person, he can't help but make the same mistake for the sake of getting what he wants.

If you're big into traumatic childhoods/child-like sequences, this is the episode for you.

This may have been one of, if not the, best episode of this series

Really have no idea how they're going to end this season. S1 and S2 tied up most plotlines by the end one or two twists in the last episode to set up the next season.

This season just seems to be constantly adding stuff and I can't imagine it all gets addressed next week.

I know there was a lot to cover in this episode but also surprised how little screentime A-Train got. It showed him in the hospital for like 10 seconds but he's conscious and doing ok it seems. So is he just like fine now?

Also sometimes this show (and any political parody) is so accurate it's physically painful, and watching Homeland rally stepdad spouting off more and more ridiculous conspiracies as outright fact to MM who has physically seen everything directly is so frustrating (which is the point, of course)

So just covering everything we most likely need to see in some capacity in the finale
The Deep crashing and burning publicly without his publicist wifey
Soldier Boy facing off with Black Noir
Hughie/Butcher potentially facing overdose
The decision between whether Homelander continues to push political narrative for Vought or just goes full public tyrant

Anything else is just icing and could continue into next season but I imagine those have to be resolved in some way
