leon's actually going to die halfway through the game, and the rest of it will be ashley soloing all the final bosses, driving back to the us on the jetski and immediately getting a breast reduction

I've seen plenty of people arguing otherwise despite the game spamming QTEs at you. Those were old even back then

They weren't old back then. God of War had them before, but RE4 was the one that started using them in cutscenes.

This. If anything I always felt like RE4 is where the meme of them being in cutscenes came from. We got alot more games with QTEs for a while after it came out too.

Looks bad. No surprise. That's our modern Capcom.
The boring RE2make Leon instead of Paul Mercier, has that forced cinematic interjection look about it and those can ruin any game, trying to be serious when the original was the king of dumb fun for a while, gameplay will probably be jogging past enemies with little to no combat, VR garbage confirmed.
Expecting microtransactions and all the original's replay value to be gutted.

I'm actually looking forward to this. Yeah tonally it looks way more serious than the original. The cheese was a big part of making the original RE4 fun. But I like to see my remakes be different from the original. Especially when the original is still perfectly playable.

Yes they were. 7 is being made to watch televisions, sitting in boats listening to conversations, sitting at dinner tables being bored, plodding around a house moving objects around and running past enemies who're obsolete because they can't spawn in fast enough. 8 is that except it thinks it's wacky and hilarious. You play as a guy who's about as exciting as accidentally running over one of your toes while opening a door too forcefully.
2r is jog forward, shoot an enemy if it might grab you, move some objects around. 3r is that with a torturous intro for some reason.

Streamer bait before gameplay. Or even more cynically, cashgrabs.

What is it like having the worst opinions in the world?

Not digging the voices compared to the original. Especially Leon's. The guy from the RE2 Remake is fine, but Mercier is the best Leon. Just won't be the same without him.

If wanting to the video game I purchase to last, to let me play the thing instead of holding me up every 10 seconds to make me watch a character take 9 weeks to pry a door open or listen to a boring unskippable speech for the fifteenth time, to preserve the things that made older games fun instead of swapping them out for one time novelties and shallow streamer bait is a collection of the worst opinions in the world well then 1. Okay great we all know it's easy to disregard someone by pretending they aren't being sincere because insincerity is so hip nowadays but here's one, can you make Resident Evil 7 sound like something I'd want to pour a lot of time into after I've seen the first jog through?

Hard mode: You can't suggest I become a speedrunner and torture myself with resets and unskippable cutscenes in pursuit of a few days of alleged glory.

I don't know how you can miss it when RE2 Remake, 7, and 8 are all games that exist and are some of the best games in recent times.

Also weird complaints when the original RE games took 27 minutes to load every time you triggered a door cutscene and tank controls have aged like warm milk.

The difficulty modes and unlockables are still there.

I agree with those complaints about the old ones. Those games are boring.
The ones I like are 4 and 5 and I've been trying to be nicer to 6 for its gameplay lately because while the campaign is a slog, the mercs mode is all gameplay and its pretty solid. The three I'm talking about are pretty much all gameplay, cutscenes an be skipped in a flash, 5 and 6 have co-op modes, all 3 have a solid mercs mode. Your average enemy in these is something you're encouraged to find a way to deal with, not jog past, you can attack multiple limbs for a different melee, there's a few insta-kill conditions, you can power trip through the whole game with unlocks.
Also I'm sure it's a lesser note but they make me laugh. I think RE5 is the funniest game I've ever played. I like going back and seeing Barry Burton tauntingly yelling "What's the matter, out of ammo?" at a feral dog in a cave.

There's an easy jab here about a low bar, how games now are full of MTX, lootboxes, presentation over gameplay and that you make it sound like all these games had to do was not include that to be considered one of the better games.

Give me something more substantial, convince me there's a game worth sticking with here beyond smoke and mirrors for one playthrough, some boring unlocks that let you kill every enemy instead of having to skip some and then nothing from there. "How can you miss it they are great because they are great" is useless.
