Yeah honestly I almost don't even notice pacing issues in VNs anymore I'm so used to it.

I dunno if its just VN + LN writers or if non-LN published authors in Japan have the same issue but they reeeeeeally like to use 1,000 words for a scene that should take 200. It's ridiculously common even in very well regarded examples of the media, more so than the same could be said of regular novels in the west that I've read (not that it doesn't still happen mind, see: Wheel of Time after the first few books, for one, but its much less common just based off my experience).

I'm not a big VN player, but the last VN I played was the House in Fata Morgana and while there were certainly some slower parts, even the slowest parts were quicker paced than the slow parts in Umineko

While the highs of Umineko have blown the highs of Fata Morgana away, I would 100% recommend Fata Morgana over it right now just because its such a tighter story

I've wondered for a bit if there was a tie in between the red swords and shields in the anime fight scenes and red truth

Now that I have seen gold text that also popped up

I am extremely annoyed

I feel like there are enough hints here that I should be able to get this but I don't and my first instinct is to blame the game for being too long which has made me forget the details of every episode

Is there like a summary of all the episodes that are only the facts given. I want to piece this together

You know, this reminds me of something I've been thinking about

Why the hell was kinzo drinking those green potions in the first game relevant to literally anything? If Kinzo was dead.... then why? Why did the smell matter at all?

Hope that comes back up at some point

But the stuff he did when he was alive and weird has a lot to do with what happens during the story

I guess what I can say for now is that its to sell the illusion he's alive because the real Kinzo did actually drink absinthe (the very first scene from Ep1 is before Kinzo died, where he drinks it). So it would smell like that if he were alive.

There's a bit more to it than that but I'm not sure I should say it for now.

For the record with Erika sealing the rooms....

I thought it was dumb that Battler got himself into this to begin with. When Erica sealed Battlers room he probably should have also retroactively changed what was said in the note

I feel like the easy answer here goes back to Battler possibly lying from his perspective when he said he saw Kinzo and say that some of the setup Erika did could also be untruthful, but I don't know how that possibly could tie into love.

Instantly my mind goes back to my crazy theory that Battler is Kinzo. Could Battler not be real?

I can see the appeal of playing these episodically because I wonder if there is some 6th sense trickery going on where a character is not actually interacting with anyone.

Also I can never not notice all the attacks being Blue/Red/Gold now

The fact that I know that is meaningful but I can't quite put into words why exactly each attack is the color it is bothers me (Such as the gold arrows that come from the bunny peoples)

There probably is a really obvious explanation but nothing really lines up off the top of my head

I don't think it is Genji. I think too much falls apart without him, Kyrie doesn't do enough for her to be integral to the plot, but I think what really falls apart is if she isn't a human on the island what the hell happened to Angie's Mother? This doesn't seem likely

Neither of these would surprise me. The biggest problem with Battler is similar to Kanon if he isn't a human on the island how did he get locked in the room?

Could it be Nanjo? There was that weird unsolved Nanjo mystery in episode....3? Could that be solved by him not actually being there?

Feels like Nanjo is the odds on favorite here if someone doesn't exist. How this works at all? I don't know, but it feels like every character besides him would have even more baggage if somehow they weren't human.

The other option I suppose is not a "This person is dead" theory but maybe this person goes by another name, or maybe two people are the same person. Could this be true?

In this case.... Shannon and Kannon being the same person seems most likely maybe? No that doesn't work due to that red truth erika gave about names. Hmm
