Everything was Paper in the first one! In fact, Thousand Year Door, the one every loves, was the one that made paper mache and origami a gameplay mechanic! I had no idea people were whining about it now. papercup posted... Also they hate Super Paper Mario, when its every bit as good as Thousand Year Door I wouldn't say it was as good as TTYD, but it was a very solid game in its own right. It just got a lot of hate for being different, hate that started long before it even came out. --- This is my signature. SilentSeph 05/24/22 7:07:40 PM #13:	The 'just an artstyle' argument isn't really accurate, it's moreso that the paper elements are pushed a lot more in the later games. NPCs make paper puns and talk about their folds/creases/tears/etc. and you fight alongside/against scissors/staplers/tape/etc. I'm not saying the new style is inherently worse (though I much prefer the first two games) but that's where the divide comes from --- Delicious and vicious, while maliciously nutritious. <cite>SilentSeph posted [p:965277330] in I feel lik... Given how I tend to hoard consumable items in RPG's (gotta make sure I have them in case I really need them later... never mind that it's the final boss fight), I have a feeling a battle system built entirely around consumables is going to end up rubbing me the wrong way, but I do want to give it a legitimate shot. --- This is my signature.
