Jeff AKA Snoopy 05/21/22 12:45:33 PM #48:	To give a HUGE benefit of the doubt to Bill Maher, as a society we do need to make sure that in our efforts to ensure people are allowed to live as they are we aren't jumping to surgery right away. I'm not suggesting that this DOES happen frequently. I believe the literature and stats suggests only 5% of people regret their decision to have surgery in regards to their trans identity. That is a very low number and 0% is pretty much impossible... but I'd like that number to be lower than 5%. How do we do that as a society? More open discussion, more inclusiveness to the LBGTQ+ community throughout the world. More inclusiveness will lead to more research, more safety, more health. The more we KNOW, the better support we provide. Going on television and rolling your eyes about the issue and claiming that everyone else is "going too far" doesn't help the issue. Bill Maher is not making the world more inclusive.
