When you think about it, an elevator is like an industrial seesaw so it makes sense.

I liked Gundam. I'm glad he got a good, dignified death.

I fail to see the parallels between Makoto and Nagito, though. Makoto was hopeful, but Nagito is a fetishist. But I guess through Monokuma's twisted viewpoint, they're similar enough. I think Nagito is a good guy overall, but more of an anti-hero than a proper hero. Makoto was pure hero through and through

chapter 4 was weird in that I somehow predicted the culprit even before the murder happened

there was that one extremely detailed scene about him getting his hamsters to press elevator buttons for him (or something like that) and I just immediately knew this would be a core part of how the killing would happen and thus he had to be the killer

That's practically the only reason I kind of want to replay the game: to see the foreshadowing. Obviously it has dankery like Nagito getting to see it early, but there are several points prior to it where the game does a more standard "Hey, this is actually impossible with your current theories" moments that slip by you when you're playing through it the first time and getting to see them while going through it yourself, as opposed to reading about them online, is a lot more fun.

It's something that happens every once in a while with mystery games. One of the things that will kind of ruin a lot of games that let you have time before the murder happened within the given chapter (so something like the Sherlock Holmes games doesn't apply) is if you tally "super special awesome" talents that you find out about within the case. For Danganronpa it is a bit obvious what I mean, but for other games it can be something like "Hey, this person can flip coins in a crazy way" and that will be something that you never knew about the character as a relevant factor. A *large* chunk of the time if that person survives they will either be the red herring or the murderer.

In the first game when Mondo and Taka's bro moment actually became plot relevant my heart did kind of sink a little because I just thought "oh so we can't have nice things, it's all setting up the next murder"

The series does get better at that but it still falls in the hole quite a bit.

Depends on who you talk to. After having beaten it and having some time to think on it...I think it's the best one, or at least ties extremely closely with 2. None of V3's chapters hit the personal low notes that 2 did for me. I also never had a dislike for any of V3's characters.

There were quite a few moments in V3 where I was so invested that I literally went "fuck this game" a few times. And I find that to be a good thing, lol.
Also I think it's the one game in the series that's heaviest with foreshadowing if you go back and replay it. Tons of stuff you won't pick up on until you know what happens later.

V3 is kind of weird in that I think the game is my favourite (of the main series) but I don't think any of the chapter stories are particularly good. The cases are all fairly low tier to me, without mostly being particularly bad. But the character interactions and how it pulls it together into a whole just carries the whole thing to the top.

Also, I was thinking about this and there's two things that, right now, I feel 1 did better than 2: Junko and the executions. Other than those, 2 is better than 1 in every way (so far)

The poison was used to fill the fire grenades. In that way, it's possible Nagito died of poisoning and not his wounds. That could make everyone the killer. Something like that is a ploy I can see Nagito pulling off. The gas mask and gloves along with the poison were in his room after all

The line of merch probably caused a domino effect that ignited the curtain. I'm not sure what's up with the bloodstain patterns. Maybe the wounds were self-inflicted and his hands were wrapped around the weapons, which is why they didnt get blood on them?

The music may have been there to disguise his voice, which doesn't necessarily fit in with the theory that this whole thing was self-inflicted. Similarly the fact that Nagito was moving his mouth under the tape 'desperately' and the lack of blood under the tape don't either...unless he taped his mouth first and then hurt himself in order to muffle his own cries of pain and avoid getting discovered. Come to think of it, that would explain the music as well. But there's the question of how he was able to tie himself up, unless he was skilled enough to do so with only one hand free (burned rope)

I can't currently explain the diary and the stabbed plushie, in particular how the plushie got blood on it. Those are just bizarre

Also, the events before the murder are likely to have been orchestrated by him. They have a flavour of "despair, followed by hope" that I can see him using

Nah, it's okay, I was just teasing :p

I'm not sure if Nagito being behind the events "before" the killing was set in stone by the game itself or not, which is why I said what I did. For all I know, once I start the trial that will come into question
