my current theory is that this is an alternate universe to DR1 where you're playing the Kyoko-alt instead of the Makoto-alt. I guess time will tell if that turns out to be true or not

trying to guess the story in Danganronpa is like trying to determine where a lightning bolt will strike but you were actually in space the whole time

Ok so, Fuyuhiko was the first person to discover the dead body and Saionji the second. Soda was the third, which is why the announcement played afterwards. I'm guessing Saionji moved the body for whatever reason, which is why she only left footprints away from the cottage, not to it.

Fuyuhiko was mentioned twice in the game credits; maybe it was his sister? Unless the sister is the girl who dies at the end of the game and not the blonde.

Also relevant is how the fridge only has coloured drinks left, and the trashcan was full of bottles. The killer needed water for whatever reason.

The killer wasn't serial killer, but wanted Mahiru to think they were. Probably to psych her out and make her aware of why they were killing her.

I'm not sure what relevance the missing swimsuit will have, other than the parallel between that and the beach trip the girls were planning.

Reached the halfway point. I didn't originally think Fuyuhiko was the killer, just someone who observed the dead body. Now I'm not so sure...

Finished the trial. In hindsight, Peko did talk about Fuyuhiko as if she knew him, so I should have seen that coming.

That new minigame with the surfboard was cool. Though I have noticed the game likes to give wrong button prompts sometimes

I really like how so far, the game deconstructs the first one in certain ways. It's a lot less black and white, and all the better for it

The fact that Makoto, Junko and the Awful Event have been referenced means this isn't an alternate reality after all (unless Monokuma and Monomi are dimension shifters, which I doubt tbh). I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes, and I'm always down for more Junko

I don't know what to think in this case. I suspect that the murder (or Ibuki's in particular) occured earlier and the video is a red herring. The figure in the video had darker skin; Akane maybe? Ibuki seems to have had a hand in Saionji's murder, judging by the bloodstains.

This is probably the case where I feel like the have the least idea what went down so far

This chapter doesn't get enough love because the fruit houses burn your eyes out. It's a really good case.

Ye, it's super memorable as a case and has a great solve. It is the only one I would put on a similar pedestal as Chapter 5 in just how much I enjoyed it.

I needed help for the Othello thing.

I understand it now but back then I had no fucking clue what was happening.

y'know, i did notice the similarities in the murders, but wrote them off due to the game being a sequel

also, I feel like Chiaki is slowly becoming the Kyoko of this game

OK, so the pillar fragments being under Nekomaru mean that he wasnt bashed by the pillar when he died, otherwise they'd be below and above him. It's a red herring. It's possible that the loop in the wire was attached to a pillar and was what he used to destroy it/pull it down

Other than that, I got nothing. Geometry was never my strong point <_< Strawberry and grape appear to be 'on top' of each other somehow, but I'm not sure how that's possible when the elevator rotates 180 and not 360 degrees

I'm not sure what was up with the alarms or Nekumaru's clock. Maybe the other clocks are wrong, but I don't know how we'd tell the time difference. Unless his clock stopped when he died (around 5:30, i'm assuming).

I know the game specifically pointed this out, but I'm leaning towards suicide. He's the kind of guy who'd do so to help out the team, and the Sakura statue has to have *some* meaning

e: though now that I think about it, the game does enjoy deconstructing the first one, so who knows
