The song that Cold Cold Heart sampled is called Sacrifice, and it's one of Elton John's more underrated songs. I feel like there's a drop-off point after his voice deepened, but he was putting out some incredible music well past that point. https://youtu.be/NrLkTZrPZA4 If you're sick of the PNAU song, I hope you can look past it and enjoy the song it drew from. I would also recommend Burning Buildings, Blue Eyes and If the River Can Bend as far as later Elton John songs go - for a breath of fresh air if nothing else. The latter song is actually a 90's Elton John song with gospel influence, but they're all good. Everyone I work with seems to be sick of Cold Cold Heart because of how often it's been playing on the radio, but it'd be cool if people listened to some of the source songs and found a lot to like about an era of Elton John they never really cared about before. Sacrifice is a top 10 Elton John song, and no amount of overplay of Cold Cold Heart can change that. --- People say friends don't destroy one another - what do they know about friends?
