As long as it's not a fanfic localization, I don't see why anyone should have an issue. Bad localizers inserting their fanfiction is the only thing that should be criticized if that's happening.

Gender neutral people can go with just she/ her pronouns. As is the case with the character in question, I literally did a Google search and there's forum posts explaining it and it's how she's described in the wikia. She's gender neutral and uses she/ her pronouns.
