yea I did the PS+ cloud saving for the Platinum. I get why some would say it's too long as Crumbling Farum Azula seems a bit thrown in but I enjoyed it. Elden Beast definitely runs off to an annoying degree but wasn't too bad overall for me.

Ranking it with the other Soulsbornes is hard, without Elden Ring it's:
Dark Souls 1 > Dark Souls 3 > Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls 2

Elden Ring would probably be above Bloodborne, dunno if above DS1 and DS3, I'd have to think a bit about it.

Farum Azula feels like it was supposed to be an area like Archdragon Peak, but they decided to make it not optional and just shoehorned it in at the end. Good area though.

I dunno where I'd put it either. I think I'd need to sit on it for a while, as I was getting really fatigued near the end and am currently just glad it's over and I can play something else.

Of the four From games I've played...

Bloodborne > Elden Ring > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls

Clearly I prefer the offshoots over the mainline Souls series.

Bloodborne > Elden Ring ~ Dark Souls > Demon's Souls >> Dark Souls 2 = Dark Souls 3

Elden Ring with better boss design and less of the Consecrated Snowfield is probably the best game ever though.

Giants forge was a much bigger issue

about to hit 350 hours, all I do now is invade people though. tons of fun.

Helping people with Malenia was my time killer after I did everything else in the game. My build was 'dodge tank', where I wore heavy armor + Shabriri's Woe and tried draw aggro because I know how to dodge Waterfowl and no one who summons for Malenia does. Most runs ended with the host dying to Waterfowl Dance or Scarlet Aeonia anyway, but I had a couple runs where I really felt the jolly co-operation, super satisfying.

He wasn't actually born normally, he was created by the Two Fingers to be Ranni's guardian/servant.

You don't need to be a furry to recognize how much of a hunk Blaidd is.

There's a missable weapon in Leyndell for the Legendary Armaments trophy that becomes unavailable soon after that point.

The best trick is to run underneath her instead of running away from her, since she cannot go straight down.
Burt watch out for the camera spinning around as you do, and beware of the rot flower explosion that happens afterwards.

Hey no shame. I did the same.
You just have to be aggressive in phase 1.
Maybe also spam some long range options if you have them whenever she does the scarlet flower attack in phase 2.

I had more luck with my mimic than Tiche but that depends entirely on how the mimic AI handles your build.

Just drop lock on at the start of the second phase and sprint towards and past her, that pretty consistently dodged the flower divebomb for me. The rest of her new attacks are all pretty easily dodgeable.

Malenia phase 2 is harder because she's more aggressive, but I actually think her new attacks are easier to dodge overall. Scarlet Aeonia looks scary but you can literally just run underneath it (or spam roll right before she hits you), and then she's a sitting duck for ranged attacks.

Tiche worked well against Malenia but I was using Mimic on the run I succeeded.

I also used the long time she was immobile after the scarlet flower to get up in her face and slash away. I ate the rot damage and then eventually used boules and potion to get myself back into shape. Then again, I was like level 170 for that fight so that might not work if you're not overleveled. Also, I had not ranged abilities worth a damn.

I did save the physicks until phase 2 at least

ROB was nerfed out of the gate so I think this is just make up sex. I used it when it sucked and said it was the best katana fwiw

I just checked and Rivers of Blood was never nerfed.

EDIT: It was, but barely, and the changes were minor enough not to be listed in the patch notes.

Malenia's Great Rune only drains life if you've been injured recently. It's like the Bloodborne system except weaker in every way. Honestly wouldn't recommend using it.

They added Rivers of Blood after or during the other weapon nerfs and I don't think they've (directly) nerfed a weapon since. Only a couple of spells and ashes.

Apparently the bleed proc animation on players was lasting far longer than intended which made it all the easier to trap people in Corpse Piler. Fixing that was essentially an indirect nerf for PvP but it didn't change PvE in the slightest.

Been playing a sorcery build and got up to 70 int. Do the full moon spells have any point to them? I have Rennala's and it seems to do about as much damage as the greatbow spell.

With such a high stat investment you'd think it'd be more powerful.

They apply a 10% magic resistance debuff to any enemy they hit. Ranni's Full Moon also applies a ton of Frostbite, and if you can get that to proc, it applies an additional 20% magic resistance debuff. They're skills that are best used at the start to make your other spells stronger.

I do think they feel kind of underwhelming even with that in mind, though. Still better than Scarlet Aeonia, the most underwhelming spell in the game.

But yeah it seems useless more often than not sadly.

Scarlet Aeonia looks amazing. One of my favorite animations in the entire game. I just wish it was stronger.

This, but for Placidusax's Ruin. Dragon lasers, lots of razzle dazzle, but tricky to actually hit anything with. Killed the final boss with it once though.

I'm too nice to be an invader. I always leisurely stroll up to the host and wave, won't even bother healing while fighting since it's just for Varre's quest anyway (and I prefer duels).

The final invasion was kinda funny though, host was fighting a Night's Cavalry so I politely sat on nearby debris as he dealt with his main foe. But instead he decided to ignore the active threat and target me, so I simply dodged away from him as the mistwraith took care of the rest. Barely had to lift a finger.

Even more silly is that I'm on my Thanos strength build, who's now going around greeting people with a jolly "hey!" It's okay we'll say this was the days before he went all mad titan.
