I've noticed a lot of people citing this as one of the worst fights but I didn't find it that bad? I didn't find it super engaging either it was mostly annoying getting one shot by bad placement now and then.

He's not really hard but he's kinda boring and annoying due to how much he rolls away. Also personally I'm not a fan of skyscraper-sized bosses. Not a fight I'd look forward to on future playthroughs

The one in the snow area. One tick of the fire it throws on the ground does about half my health.

I took that one down on horseback letting Tiche tank as much damage as possible, while simultaneously trying to pull aggro away from Tiche so she wasn't just destroyed in 10 seconds

I beat him first try but I used Mimic Tear and just laid waste to the dude with spells.

Might be one of those bosses that's weak to a certain build but kind of a hassle to others

Definitely a hassle for melee, seeing as 90% of his attacks are an AOE centered on him.

The ash of war on Envoy's Long Horn wrecks those birds, btw.

I've used my long horn to wreck some birds, on occasion

Decided to use Mimic Tear for the first time as I really wasn't in the mood to get eaten repeatedly by the two guys, so really needed something that could sort of tank one.

I've heard the mimic was nerfed, though idk to what extent. He didn't really seem that powerful compared to other summons.

i used mimic tear the entire game lol

+10 is insane, he has i believe 10 times your HP

I met him at the volcano manor, I don't remember seeing a sign for it. I haven't seen any NPC summon signs since Margit.

for the record, you could also have summoned melina before fighting morgott

Beat Malekith. Very difficult, I don't think I ever dodged his "flip through the air shooting three lasers and then beyblade through the whole arena fuck you" attack. Just lucked out eventually.

Still using Mimic Tear, but that's for a few reasons.
-I don't have enough generic gloveworts to level the generic ashes to +10
-I don't have enough FP to summon any of the other unique summons I have that seem good (I've been using latenna but in a lot of fights she just gets squished. I could level the bird to +10 but it seems like he wouldn't be that great?). I feel like a melee build incentivizes mimic tear as you don't have alot of FP, which may be intentional.

the game for sure has extreme balancing issues, especially for melee builds. i regretted my pure strength initial playthrough and had way more fun on my second run putting almost everything into INT

My last From game was Dark Souls, and one of my observations is that it seeks way easier to run a caster here. I remember in Dark Souls I felt like I found almost no casting equipment or spells, and I wondered how someone could possibly play the game that way. Where as in Elden Ring I am overflowing with spells I can't use.

Yeah, last few areas of Elden Ring seem like they're built with casting (or bow) in mind.
