Walking into the grocery store. Can't even remember the last time I found money on the ground. What a rush!

What's the most money you ever found on the ground?

I found $40 one time,

100 CAD. Didn't want to take it, but we did.

I found a $50 bill on the ground once. It was in a public area too. I didn't pick it up tho. It had to have been a trap.

Ive found quite a few bills actually. First 100 bill finely folded in half in front of a Sams Club. I was like 8 or so and my parents shut me up cause I started screaming. They used it for groceries that day and gave me a 10 bill.

Second 100 dollar bill was while working at the airport. Once again finely folded. I wasnt going around to see who had lost a 100 bill so I just calmly looked around to see if anyone was looking for it to no avail so I just took it.

Have also found lots of 5s, 10s, 20's.

Isn't that theft by finding? Which is technically a Larceny charge -- which in California carry a possible sentence of up to six months in a county jail and a potential fine of up to $1,000, or in New York Petit larcenies, however, are misdemeanors and punishable by a prison term of up to a year.

Especially if it's a shop, you need show that you have done reasonable steps to find the owner then it wouldn't be Larceny, as the required mens rea for theft, (the intention to deprive the owner permanently) is absent.

Posts on a message board, can count as evidence in any criminal endeavor -- thus I would advise everyone to be wary of what you say.

I found a $50 in a strip mall parking lot once. Then a couple months later I found a $100 in an apartment parking lot while doing food deliveries. It was covered in slush and road grime, but I snagged it and washed it off when I got to a sink.

Someone dropped $200 cash when I was working overnights at Kroger in ATL. I turned it in, waited a week for it to get claimed. I got $100 and donated the other $100 to whatever Christmas charity we were doing that year.

I found 4 dollars on the ground just today lol

The most I've found was 80 dollars a few years ago though

I found three $20 bills once but it was in the pocket of one of my jackets the first time I wore it again in the fall.

Happens to me regularly.

Over the years I find shit like 5s, 10s and 20s that was left in my winter coats and thicker clothes.

I also hide money.

But my old age now makes me forget.

A few weeks back I was just simply staring out the window at the rain and it accrued to me that I had $60 hidden in the curtain.

That was like last summer I put it there in the curtain rod part.

I didn't think twice about it, I walked inside with the money and started to tell the cashier that if anyone was looking for it I had it, but then I turned and saw a woman with another cashier searching the ground for something and knew it had to be the money, so I asked her if it was hers and handed it over. She gave me a $20
