Since The Stanley Parable was a game about surprises, we've tried to implement new content in ways that players won't be expecting. The script for this new content is longer than the script for the entire original game.

From the site. I've already found one new ending, the Bottom of the Mind Control Facility Ending

is it a brand new experience, like how the stanley parable demo was not the same experience as the main game, or is this the first game with added stuff

Should my friend who hasnt played the Stanley Parable play the original game or just play this?

It's the first game with added stuff. I haven't exhaustively done everything, but with the exception of new content the only difference between the first game and this one I've noticed is that in the games ending you go to Firewatch and Rocket League instead of Minecraft and Portal
