F-Zero is too arcadey for me.
Both are extremely difficult but Wipeout is more forgiving, at least Wipeout HD on PS3 was because you could restart any race as many times as you wanted but with F-Zero you have to do the GPs all in one go :/
And you gotta play the hardest on F-Zero to unlock stuff
Also soundtrack in Wipeout is better IMO. I love techno stuff

I think I tried that hoping to like it but it was too floaty or something. F-Zero has way better feel.

Yeah I played F-Zero X and Wipeout 64 back-to back last night and I see why poeple would think that.
I actually like the floaty feel of Wipeout

Well, if nothing else, Wipeout has the waaaaay better soundtrack.

Though even with my notorious anti-Nintendo bias (and my fondness for Psygnosis due to Destruction Derby and the Discworld games), I still kind of have to give the nod to F-Zero on gameplay.

Then again, I'm really only comparing the first game of each, because those are the only ones I've played from either franchise. So maybe some of the later games would radically change my opinion. Probably not, though.

Yeah F-Zero has better gameplay and more charm imo

Odd, because I always found Wipeout 64 to be a super easy game.

My F-Zero experience is limited to the SNES and one of the GBA ones (can't remember which, I think GP Legend), but I thought they were way more difficult and more interesting.

F-Zero seems propped up by its wacky designs and the Nintendo name. I'd support a new entry in the franchise though
