Switch Pro lasts a fucking eon on a charge. The only functional advantage the DualSense has is analog triggers. Games can't utilize the touchpad because it's a fucking touchpad. There's no excuse for why Dual Sense has 1/10th the battery life of a controller at the same price point with near feature parity. Sony has you whipped on this one if you think this shits acceptable. How can PlayStation be the console for serious gamers if the controller can't even last a night session? Jesus Christ.

i never understood why people say they prefer the PS battery lol
I still got Eneloops from like 10-12 years ago that hold 3x the charge of a new PS controller

If they die...just swap em out.
Meanwhile I have two PS controller batteries that cant hold a charge at all and gotta be plugged in to use

I got a Series S last fall and at first I thought it was weird it uses store bought batteries. But now I actually like it. I just have to remember to always have some on supply

I use a Wii U Pro on my PC all day and charge it once per week

I honestly dont notice much difference from the ps4

Considering what it does it probably uses more power than Previous

I have never in my life had a Playstation controller die mid-session. When you're done playing, just plug it in and set it on top of the console. It'll be full charge next time you turn it on, which will be more than enough for a gaming session.

Why this is a problem is beyond me. But people bitch about literally anything, even when it's their own fault.

And people thought it was stupid that the Xbox SeX controller used AA batteries. Even one AA Ni-MH rechargeable battery holds more than the DualSense's non-removable lithium ion battery, and the SeX controller uses two of them.

They got us good with the PlayStation 4, I was so disgusted with the battery life of those controllers that even PlayStation 5 controller batteries make me happy

I only use it plugged in to my PC, so I don't mind.

I don't play enough for it to be an issue anymore, but coming from a Steam Controller which lasted like a month from 2 AA rechargeables it was definitely worse.

imo the bigger issue is that it's barely user serviceable, I only disassembled it to paint it, but i couldn't imagine the average user taking it apart to replace an old battery without breaking something.

Guess that's why it only will charge something for I wanna say 4 hours In rest mode. My fit bit is regularly only charging to 99% percent cause that feature lol.

I don't mind playing with it plugged in though. But it's not like I'm playing on a 50 inch TV from like 15 feet away. I wanna say my TV is 32 inch and I sit maybe 4 feet away using a 6 foot cord.

Uh plug it into the wall. And ive never had a battery issue and plug it up whenever im done playing.

Wii U pro controller is downright bizarre with how good the battery life is. An 80 hour charge for the controller that most people didnt have on a console that most people didnt have.

I used to play 60-80 hours of Monster Hunter 3 before having to charge my Wii U Pro controller. Wii U! It's unacceptable for modern consoles to have shitty batteries

And again, one of us is having battery problems and one of us isn't. But of course, always starting your gaming session with a fully charged battery would mean you didn't have something to bitch and moan about. So y'know...tradeoffs.

Not surprised at all battery life is trash. PS4 wasnt much better.
