for future reference, korean looks like whereas chinese looks like (it's much denser and has more completely straight lines. korean incorporates a lot of circular strokes)

japanese can use chinese characters too though, so if you see a combination of dense characters and simpler ones it's probably japanese. particles, foreign names, and common phrases in japanese use katakana/hiragana (simpler things like ) , whereas for jp names and other specific nouns they use kanji (the chinese characters)

hiragana (used for foreign names, or written alongside kanji as a guide to how to pronounce it) is curvier, but you won't get a full circle like in korean
