There's at least one letter that can end in both -lare and -lair. It's also easy to forget that an exact sounding word can mean something else and be spelt differently. This has almost tripped me up at least once in past puzzles.

I picked the wrong day to decide to play in hard mode.

I failed today. Too many words of similar construct. When you're only eliminating two letters per guess, that's not a lot of progress. I had way too many letters still left on the keyboard.

Fun, ironic guesses for me included LOSER and GONER.
