probably would be easier to just nominate on the first day or send your songs to mycreo to be nominated then if you're busy...

The problem with this is if you're just ten minutes late to the party, you're on page 2. I was expecting an edit to the OP so I was refreshing while looking in the wrong place for permission to post, and I ended up at #30. I was only maybe a minute late.

Saying "just nominate on day 1" isn't sufficient. Not that you would know since you got yours in as literally the first post.

the fact remains that theyll be filtered out even further from the finals and round 2 is going to be a 128-song bracket comprised of mainly RPG battle themes and Japanese rhythm game tracks when we could have had a 128-song bracket with round 1s variety.

Was last year only RPG battle themes and Japanese rhythm game tracks in R2? Lessee...

https://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=474630

Here's brackets A and B:

RPG fight: ******
RPG other: ***
J-rhythm: **
Other: *********************

RPG fight: ********
RPG other: ********
J-rhythm: *
Other: ***************

So sure, there's a ton of RPG representation, but RPGs are the genre that I would argue leans most heavily into having a variety of tracks (other than games explicitly about music). I was also taking a wide berth of what counted as an RPG, including games like Fire Emblem and Arknights. If we stuck to traditional JRPGs, which is what I assume you're talking about, the list is much shorter.

This is a very subjective statement, and if someone doesn't play or doesn't like RPGs, it's easy to see how they could stereotype "RPG music" as being overly similar.

Is it? I've seen a good number of RPGs with over 100 songs, which is extremely rare for other game genres (other than music games).

Thank you for all you've done, Mycro. It takes courage to face the issues you're having and I'm sure it's not easy to drop this project and b8 for the time being. Get better soon

if he was saying that the songs in the 200s being missed is a problem I'd agree. but as far as he said his songs were missed by being in the 600s!

I'm aware. What *I'm* saying is that even being halfway to that point is risking being missed by people who don't have quite the endurance for listening through the playlist. I know I was getting a little worn out just by the time I got to my stuff...which is only a quarter of the way to that point.

If 60 people want to nominate 10 things, then no matter whether you do 1/2/3/4, 2/2/3/3, 3/3/2/2, 1/1/1/7 or 7/1/1/1, you're going to end up with 600 things in the playlist at the end of Day 4.

Well, you also have to account that (as far as I'm aware) every proposed variant has a one day freeze for everyone to just listen to things. If the pause is on Day 5, it makes sense to have the largest wave of songs hit on Day 4--just from a morale standpoint, I feel like there's a massive difference between "a lot of songs are going to be posted today, but there's also a rest & you have 48 hours to react to them" and "a lot of songs are going to be posted today, and the next day, and the next day, but there'll be an extra day for you thrown it at some point after you were crushed by three consecutive avalanches".

Personally, my issue isn't 76 hours of music or whatever it was. It's how incredibly fast and relentlessly that amount of music dropped; a slower build and enough time to react to the flood takes care of my issues even if the total number of songs submitted before the freeze remains identical to this year.

(Though again, I love this and continue to be happy to participate even if nothing changes)

Scooby-Doo is many things, but it's definitely not a hard-core Tekken fan's idea of fun; this I can say with sheer sincerity.
