Weird cause I bought an item and then the seller wouldn't send to me and relisted it at a higher price.
I reported them and the listing was still up for awhile.
Took like a month to get my refund.

Nope. I didn't ask anyone to do anything. I only responded to their two messages saying I'd send the next day. Then did so.

One annoying thing i hate as a buyer is snipers. They wait until the last 3 seconds of an auction and outbid you by 50 cents to win an item. They should allow a 5 minute window for the previous higher bidder to put in a counter bid to prevent that shit.

If you really want something you have to be present the last minutes of the auction and be on the lookout hitting refresh. As others stated everybody can snipe and it actually saves people money from going into a betting war.

Sniping is the good thing to do.

Also, depends on how popular the item is. You might get lucky and nobody else will bid after you.

I have been ripped off a couple times over rhe 7 years or so I have sold on eBay

Used to sell a figure line called Hot Toys. Sold a Boba Fett for around $400, just before the post office was messed up in 2020. The buyer got impatient, despite me shipping out Priority(package was a week or so late) and filed a complaint. Ebay refunded him, and the package arrived a couple days later. Buyer claimed that porch pirates got it, so I was out an expensive piece that I could have sold again

Recently I sold another for $600. Buyer claimed there was damage to the piece(there wasn't, as inspected it and sent extra pictures they asked for). They asked for a refund, and sent it back. What they shipped back was a cheap metal racking for canned goods, that weight close to the same amount. Ebay refunded them despite my complaint.

If they can't prove postage showing weight and delivery, ebay should be on your side.

I did tell eBay about it but since I refunded him too hastily they told me they couldn't really assist with that part of it. They did say they'd possibly do something about his account, though. Better than nothing (if they actually did it).

I actually haven't bought anything on eBay in a while because there hasn't been anything I want/need. Last thing I bought was some DVDs of "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet" for my mom's birthday.

I got banned years ago and just started trying it again recently.

Someone tried to scam me on a motorcycle I wanted. I figured it out before actually wiring $5k as I was asked to do before the auction ended. I sent him an email telling him he was a POS and eBay banned me. I had all the emails they sent me trying to scam me and eBay did nothing but get rid of me because I said mean things.

items don't sell for the highest bid. they sell for just over the second highest bid.

a hundred, a thousand, a million. it doesn't matter what i bid. it only matters what the next guy bid.

in my scenario, it's literally impossible for you to win it for $21. your competitor already promised to pay more than that.

On topic with TC's issue, there's a help option to have an ebay agent call you. I've used it twice in the last couple weeks because the automated system for changing my bank account kept fucking up.

Like thats how eBay works. Thats how its always been. You wait until the last few seconds, put in your max bid and hope for the best. That way you dont even have to deal with a bidding war and paying more than necessary.

Not that I frequently bid on auctions (I almost exclusively use buy it now for purchases) but that would just ensure I never bid on an auction sale again lol

This is why the max bid feature is so convenient. If it's not worth $100 to you, don't pay it. Set it and forget it until the auction is over.

Nothing I said was bullshit. Why would I post on CE to lie about eBay? That is pointless. I said I have no idea what the issue was; I suspected the buyer because he was really aggressive about me shipping the game immediately. Like he sent two messages in a 2 hour time span asking that I send by the next day (a Saturday). It is possible, however, that the issue was me selling something with an old, rarely used account. Someone else noted they got permanently suspended for the same reason.

You shouldn't call people liars without any evidence or reason. It's honestly pretty sad and pathetic.

I've been selling off my video game collection on eBay and I've been burned a few times already. Three times people claim the game never arrived (despite having them sign for the damn thing) and demand a refund. eBay always sides with the buyer.

Absolutely correct. That should be the default setting for every auction. Except make it more like 30 minutes.
