Why in God's name would you pepper a lemon?

Salt is prevalent in a lot of spices usually as a preservative.

Some part curing or preservation, some part American dieting in general. Being the first listed likely means it's the highest amount of everything listed.

Either way, I like the stuff when I make an omelet or scrambled eggs.

The bigger question is why it needs sugar.

Nah it would taste fantastic.

Maybe to you, but for most "normal" pallets, you need salt when cooking meat. Otherwise it is going to be dry and bland.

Now putting salt on food AFTER it is cooked, that is a different story. You should never do that. If you feel the need to do that then it wasn't seasoned properly before being cooked.

I didn't. It uses salt as the first ingredient. It should be either the lemon or the pepper.

So when using a brand you never used before, instead of checking the ingredients/nutrition facts and adjusting your cooking appropriately, you used it blindly like you would with your other brand?

A special blend of spices shouldn't need salt since you can just use salt seperately. It gets worse if you want to use more than one blend and they all include salt. If I want to have more lemon pepper that also means more salt, which I don't want.

Nah, it's a blend that's just called "lime pepper".
