Valid point, but children are not exactly informed consumers and never will be.

Disagree; depends on what the product being sold is

lets be real, half or even more of the people who bought those games aren't children
some of the people who buy said games for children also know better as they are gamers themselves, this gen doesn't have the same parents we did, children don't have 60$ to spend on pokemon

The problems never change.
Children (I don't care if you're a manchild dog walker who's "afraid" to work or an actual adolescent) have access to mommy or daddy's credit card (either by stealing it or otherwise) and parents will just buy whatever they want for them.

Consumers aren't important because we have allowed anyone with a product or service that we may buy to dictate to us the terms.

It's the reason why the cable tv industry is the way it is in that we don't have choices because we allowed them to dictate the choices which benefits them.

Same deal with the internet service providers in that we pay way more money for the worst internet service in the world and we have accepted that instead of railing against it and in that they double and triple charge us with outrageous rental fees monthly for routers and modems when we could just buy a router and modem and be done with but they dictate to us and we fall for it.

When humans ruined it the same way humans inevitably ruin everything else.

Consumers are still important. It's just that the consumers that are important aren't the ones you think should be important, and they're not important in the way you think they should be.

If anything, consumers consuming is the problem, because most of the problems in gaming go back to money. And specifically, how much of it certain consumers are willing to spend, and in what ways.

ie, your opinions on microtransactions or loot boxes will always be immaterial as long as there are people willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on them. They're the consumers that matter, not you.

Neither are most adults.
