I been finding it hard to not think about myself and when I start thinking bad about myself, it is hard to stop.

My problem is I don't like myself at all. I hate myself so much.

I really need to do something about this, I lose motivation when I get like this.

If other people don't like you may I suggest cynicism or simple hedonism

there is zero shame in counseling, and in trying to improve your own condition.

Counselling helps if you get a good counsellor who's on the same page as you. That can be a long process, and it's more of a reprieve than a cure unless you get the sort of therapy that really hits the spot.

But just having the person to talk to can help a lot. And if you have substance abuse problems, the support of a positive third party like a counsellor or therapist might be able to help.

Anything else I could say to hopefully help you feel better runs the risk of making things worse, because I empathize a lot with what you're saying and the way I've coped with a lot of my stuff has been really hard and really painful. But finding a decent therapist - which, granted, is harder than it sounds - is always a solid foundation. And if substance abuse is something that affects you, which it may not, re-evaluating your relationship with that substance might be helpful.

I dunno what else to say, other than I empathize with what you're saying and I hope that whatever avenues are available to you are able to help.

I guess it won't hurt to try counselling, I hope that works. I don't touch things like drugs or alcohol, so substance is no problem.

The problem is you rely on motivation. Like that's ever really helped anyone.

I hate myself too. More than any other individual.

Probably for entirely different reasons, but the end result is the same.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I am 32 years old that hasn't gone yet to University. I still need to get my A Levels to get into University. I am still single and living with my parents. I am still working minimum wage job.

Everyone I know has gone to University, got their degrees, got married, has their house, etc.

In my job everyone is permanent except for me. I get the least amount of money, I am the only one who has gone to University and doesn't have any title. My work mate has BA Hons and HND as their title.

Don't allow yourself to beat or self pity yourself. If you keep thinking about the past, you won't get anything done. You can turn your life around by just changing your mindset to an optimistic and positive mindset, and learn from your mistakes to become a better person. But you do also have to put work in it. Wanna be happier and more productive? Keep yourself busy and do things that need to be taken care of, as well as activities that make you happy and healthier (and hanging out with family and riends). Have some short term goals and long term goals. I always write down a list of things that need to get done everyday in the morning and try to do as much as I can. It's mostly related to work on the weekdays, with some chores.

Do your best to focus on the present and plan for the future. Don't settle career wise in a dead end job either.

I read this earlier today, and you might find it useful. I know this stuff can feel patronising or useless when you're particularly down, but just if you're interested.

I have problems with self loathing myself, and bit in particular was an idea I found interesting.

Get your self-esteem from who you are, not what you do
We dont look at our friends and like them for what they achieve, Steve says, we like them for who they are. We should measure our own success in the same way. Are you a positive person who can motivate others? Are you kind? Do you have integrity? If you are measuring success against your values rather than what car you own or how much you earn then building self-esteem is in your own hands.

I have booked marked that website to read it later.

I have never gone to University before, so when I go it would be my first time. At the moment I have an idea what I want but lack the A Levels to enter.

I didn't know living with parents was a common thing, the thing is everyone that I know has moved out and got married with kids, so I thought it was common.

I have been talking to people that I know about my issue and they have been helping me also. My teacher says that I shouldn't be too hard and I shouldn't care if I go to University late.

I will go to Tai Chi and the gym and stop overthinking, I will stop my overthinking from missing those things. I can make a list of what do to each day.

Just because I won't do the exam this year doesn't mean I won't study in the mean time.

I will try to do some recipes, I stopped cooking when I started overthinking.
