Rules:

1. Don't be a jerk. Seriously. I am taking a chance on some of you guys. Don't make me regret it
2. Roles are going to be open flip. I really enjoyed that part of Ben's last game, so once someone dies you will see their Role PM.
3. There are probably other rules I can't think of but basically standard mafia rules. 48 hour days, 24 hour nights, etc.

So, as you will soon find out if you haven't figured it out yet, the flavor of this game is kind of weird. I've gone back and forth on whether I should just state it outright, but I have always enjoyed the meta of mafia, so I'll let you figure it out.

Because of this the flavor text of this game is going to be more of a Getting Over It or Tim Rodgers style commentary on Elden ring than any sort of in game flavor. I was never a big Mafia flavor guy anyways so it works for me. It will probably be more interesting as roles flip.

I think Elden Ring might be one of the few super hyped games I completely missed the hype on. I think if it was called Dark Souls 4 I would have been paying more attention, but after bouncing off Sekiro and Bloodbourne hard (I really like casting spells and I really don't like Gothic Horror) I was hesitant about a From Soft game that wasn't explicitly Dark Souls. Maybe if I was paying more attention I would have seen how identical it was going to be from a gameplay perspective. Regardless after the Metacritic score was eyepopping I figured it was time to get on bored.

I am Illusionary Floors, Town Vanilla. Taking myself off the menu. And if you're salty that I'm revealing too much info to scum unnecessarily, then I present this idea. Everyone should just say I'm obvious town. If this goes on for enough days then scum will kill me for being not mislynchable! And I know many of your reactions is going to be to oppose this and immediately vote for me with no other commentary (looking at you IGCD). Well that's the obvious and boring thing to do. No yours are. You appear to know a lot about these messages. Like it's impossible to believe you aren't involved with it now. I would assume they are nothing to do with players and are more of cyoa style of a game or something based on good or bad.

The message says "we", and it came from the host at the very start of the game. This implies two possibilities:

It was either automatically generated by the host at the start as something that's alignment neutral, giving me no reason to care about it.

The other option is it was player specific, with "we" implying more than 1 player is involved. I have no inclination to trust something like that at the very start of the game.

This isn't even worth metaing.

I am ignoring the rating feature until someone gives me reason to do otherwise.

Could be but I always take the risk. Reminded me of a wacky gimmick tied to a power role that I'd have in one of my own games. That's why I understand what's going on right away.

My ratio is all mood dependent. Sometimes I'll post almost everything the moment I think it and sometimes I'll only post like 1/4 of what I write.

In the games, every time your message gets rated good you get healed.

someone can correct me if i'm wrong as I haven't played the game yet but I believe that in-game when someone rates your message as "good" you get healed.

Translating that feature into this would suggest to me some kind of healing associated with it. maybe like a gimmicky doctor that can only heal if their message is rated good. or maybe they get a different power if the message is rated bad. idk im spitballing here

I'm not sure about that. But i reverse psychological thing going in in my head but I've also never played the game. I may wait to rate just to be on the safe side of things

For the benefit of those of us who don't play this game, why?

The starting message makes me think it would be an information role, or maybe a (temporary?) upgrade into one. But it's all speculation, really. Taking a chance on this is interesting.

Also Ben's Vanilla claim out of the gates screams bad to me but Ben is a smarter player then to be scum who claims vanilla out the gate right?

Vanilla is like the easiest and best claim to make as scum. I've never claimed anything but vanilla as scum and never will
