Do you keep hard and digital copies of personal papers ie. insurance, check stubs, bank, cc etc ?



I keep my life dental, and health insurance, investments, bank, cc etc on both hard copy and digital.

If I have a hard copy I stuff it into a folder, where I keep it until the drawer overflows and I throw most of it away once a decade or so. You know: what you're supposed to do. :)

What youre suppose to do is shred it, and then use the shredded paper to play pranks on people by dumping all of it onto their car via the open sunroof

I have a 2TB hard drive with all of my documents in it, including receipts for every purchase I ever made (I ALWAYS ask for a receipt). If I get paper versions of anything, I scan it, save it to that hard drive, then immediately shred it. The only thing I have hard copies of are my mortgage agreement, car title, social security card, and vaccine card. Those are locked in a fireproof safe along with my passport, check book, and foreign cash. The safe is stored in a secret compartment hidden in the walls of my house.

That would be an improvement, yes. Maybe I should take more receipts...

On the other hand, open sunroofs aren't really a thing here in MN... :)
