Dude, the game looks so much easier with magic lol. Fights that would've been a pain in the ass for me as a greatsword user were trivialized for him. PatrickMahomes 03/15/22 2:12:33 PM #3:	I like picking magic DPS in games like this so I went with it. It works for some bosses, just snipe them while they target your ash. But it's hardly a 100% clear rate. Tons of bosses are quick to close on you, others take place in small spaces, not all let you use ashes, etc. And when you're closed in on, you're at a significant disadvantage because your physical stats are lower than those of a melee build. Maybe these people are cheesing or something, but it's hardly a catch-all solution just to pump magic and call it a day. Just about every Faith tool is niche and while there's some stuff that works great on specific bosses, in general Faith cannot cut it as a pure caster. But, I beat every other game, so it's impossible for me to tell a person new to the series how they're gonna do. My cousin seen me when I accidentally went to Caelid immediately, so in his head the game is damn near impossible. First thing he saw was me struggling to conquer a normal area lol. 30 hours later, Im still not even back there yet. Im surprised I actually ended up taking out that camp back then. Replace Magic Spells with FireArms and you have the same end result. You're attacking from range. There's a real reason why projectile warfare replaced face-to-face melee warfare. The only difference is what types of projectiles are you launching. And once we get past Kinetic Projectiles into DEW (Directed Energy Weapons). Energy Projectiles will have even higher damage potential at greater range. I use the wolves. But I mean, even if they a distraction for you to get a few combos off. When you got a bleed build, you're taking off giant chunks in that time. These are RPGs. If you level up enough, eventually it will be easy regardless of build at least in NG. MJOLNRVII 03/15/22 4:15:34 PM #28:	Magic definitely makes some bosses like Radahn or the normal Dragons(ez headshots) easier. It kinda sucks firing at bosses that can either parry, block, reflect, or dodge spells like Malenia/Radagon/Halberd+Shield Tree Sentinels. You can get around their input reading with delayed spells like the Carian Phalanx or Rock Sling spells though. There's also that gimmicky ass infinite FP thing you can use with Azur's Comet. Actual easy mode is Hoarfrost Stomp, with or without Mimic Tear.
