Welp, I've decided to give up on trying to get to palace approach ledge road. It is not easy to get there. I've decided I should focus on getting upgrades and shit and get the ability to respec first.

Finally got my moonveil katana setup and that alongside my plus 11 bloody slash uchigatana is so stronk. (I did also go out of my way to get the meteoric ore blade katana, and while the gravity thing is cool I might not have too much use for it. I also happened to find a wakizashi when I was out and about, so I am halfway to peek weeb) I'll probably obliterate the 2nd lord when I get to'em. Heres hoping anyway.

I used a great shield to beat Radahn.

Is it true that you go in fighting the mimic tear nude then he is nude fighting you and you just equip your stuff and it's pretty much ez mode?

If you're Dex/Int, I HIGHLY suggest getting Hoarfrost Stomp on the Uchi instead. That way it can scale nicely with Int also instead of the arcane needed for blood uchi. Also, Uchi still retains it's bleed nature (at a lower rate) while giving it frostbite build up so you get potential for two burst DMG procs which is great if you run into something that can't bleed.

Yes. I'll two hand the moonviel when I want to shoot beams and dudes, but I normally dual wield with the uchi in my right hand for the bloody slashes. Its working stupid well right now.

*I'm not at the point where I get the mimic yet, but I did bump up my FP just enough to use the oleg summon and man he carries, lol.*

I didn't intend to put up my int beyond what the moonveil requires, and I already had 20 arcane but you know what I'll check out that stomp when I get to it. The area that its at should be coming up right after I get done with this academy place.

bleh. almost 120 hours in, getting kinda burnt out. i wanted to 100% everything on my first playthrough and so i could just enjoy other playthroughs without worrying about missing anything, but now i'm just kinda exhausted. still have mountaintops of giants, farum azula, etc. to do, and just kinda unmotivated.

edit: also are steam achievements buggy or something? how could there be more people that have beaten malenia than loretta?

Yeah. At the end of the day you can do what you want. Min/maxing isn't all that serious unless you're hardcore pvping or something lol. But I find Arcane not all that useful in game compared to other builds.

To be honest, I only got it to 20 so I can use the one katana when I get to it. Probably won't use it much/if at all, but its the only way to achieve maximum weeb levels....I must have all the katanas.

Good thing this game has easy respecs though because whenever I get around to doing a new game I can definitely put together a much better build then what I am going with, lol.

i think i started fighting malenia around 3 pm or something now its a lil past midnight

i have a headache now too

also i think she is extremely bs man. sometimes she hardly does her spinny move that can take out your entire health and other times she spams that shit. the only time i managed to avoid those was playing as a mage and being far away. i just waited for two spinny sequences and then dodged forward the 3rd. idk if that possible upclose tho

I gotta say I was extremely disappointed when I expanded the map for Caelid and Lurnia (sp) and both of them are extremely tiny with 80% of the overall "map" being dead space / water / clouds lol.

The game world is much smaller than anticipated.

I found it yesterday, pretty close to the starting area. There's a merchant on the southern coast opposite the small isle which sells dragon spells. He hides under a huge chunk of ruins leaning against the cliff side, and has the cookbook you need.

can anyone tell me if armor stats significantly matter in this game, especially late game? I feel like bosses two shot you regardless, I get it helps a certain amount but doesnt seem to be nearly enough to make a big noticeable difference. Im just curious because I want to play fashion Souls instead of having to wear the best armor I got at any given time.

I asked in an earlier topic and it seems to be generally no. I suppose they matter a little (like, heavy armor will protect more than light), but I'm mostly looking at weight, poise, and potential bonus stats. And looks

I don't know about the anti-poison stuff, but they're slow enough that you can painstakingly swoop in, slash a bit, and swoop out.

I wonder if there's a havel equivalent.

Wing of Astel's skill seems to be pretty good at damaging larger enemies, since the hitbox seems to cover a wide area and hits multiple times. Not super fast/spammable or amazing at breaking posture though.

They hate fire, so if you are nervous, you light up the big ones, go in for attacks, then back off when the flame goes out. Repeat as needed.

Or if you have 12 faith, you can buy cure poison for cheap. Not a faith build myself, but 12 gives me quite a few options for utility spells that don't really rely on scaling. Think I'm currently rocking a spell that cures poison/rot, weapon buff that does fire/bleed, sneak and safe fall buff, a regen, a fireball, and poison mist.

I got into Stormveil last night. Margit took about eight tries.

Yesterday's adventure was Volcano Manor boss and Mohg. Manor boss was easy enough. I just ignored lava. His hit box is weird in the second phase which caused me minor issues. I seem to have been overleveled so I just hit him a lot and ignored attacks for the most part.

Mohg was much harder. He's got a ton of health. Mimic tear served me well. General strategy of wait for him to distract while I run in and get some hits. Then I'm forced to do the last bit by myself because Mimic is dead. Took a lot of attempts.

Afterwards found out there's much easier strategies for these guys. The spear for Volcano Manor and you can outright cheat against Mohg. Oh well.

Nice man. I like how Margit is this roadblock for old and new players alike because of his delayed attacks that can catch even vets who are too roll happy.

AFter switching from the longsword in my strenght build to the Brick Hammer and upgrading that to +13 or so I am so glad I made the switch. I have this weird thing where I don't want to switch off my starting weapon because I had used it for half the game (guessing the length.) But man this Brick Hammer is great.

I thought I had explored all I could in the Lurnia region but I just found the path to the Magma Wyrm boss and beat it and I can now explore that area. Through that cave I then found the lift to Atlus Plateau. I haven't bean the Royal Academy yet so I just hit the first grace point in Atlus and traveled back.

I think I'm doing the Academy tonight.

Question:

Does anyone know how to get to this plateau or whatever in the SW corner of Lurnia? I haven't spent a lot of time looking for a way up but I'm pretty sure there's stuff up there. Maybe I can go back later?

What is the weird area where there's a bunch of metal-ball-worms glowing and standing upright towards some kind of pedestal? The name of it sounds like it's a portal to a boss fight.

Yeah, from north side of the plateau, down in the swamp, there is a way up through the poison into the village of albianacs (sp)

/\You get up there via going from down under. You have to go down to the center lake area of the map like normal, go around where that area is at on the map, and you will eventually come to this orange looking area in the lake with a few giant crabs around. Around there you will eventually find a stairway that goes up.....you should come across that warrior npc chick that helped out with the godrick battle over there too.

The top of that plateau is accessed through Rannis questline, and its toward the end.

Ah. I didn't want to do it yet because I wanted to cash in my runes, lol. Plus I kind of overencumbered myself so dodging is difficult. I suppose I could just remove some armor since the sword I found is awesome.

Started as a wretch since I didn't know what kind of build I wanted.

I thought of one more question.... I was doing a quest and got some fingers to randomly invade people and I have to do it a few times. I realized, I've never been invaded by a player. Do I have to do something special or has it just not happened to me?

It could be because i'm a little over leveled for the areas i'm in.
