been browsing steam discussions for this game. hackers are apparently putting people in a deathloop locking them out of their savefile. wtf.

That's the online in every fromsoft game though.

works on pc. doesn't heal me up 100% but does like 99.9% or something. not sure why tho.

Today's adventure was exploring more in Crumbling Farum. Theres a lot of looping around where multiple graces can be the way "forward". I dont love it tbh. It's just a confusing layout. The capital was my favorite. It's setup in a much more understandable way.

Beat up that twin dragon, killed that mounted knight on the bridge and got to the boss there. I only tried him like twice. Got to phase 2 where dude just leaps all over the place and shoots me with red shit. I'll give him a proper fight tomorrow.

im 7 hours into my fresh save file. beat a couple of bosses around limgrave. discovered a mining shaft i've never experienced before with a giant troll as a miniboss but his skin was made out of rock. took me a couple of tries to beat him.

might go look for that greatsword that I've read about. been doing a lot of jump-heavy attacks with a longsword and want to try it out with something larger lol

Finally checked my play time, 23 hours, level 39 and I just defeated Godrick. How much more is there?

you are still in the early game

if you explore alot you can probably hit the 100-hour mark if you did like 20 hours each for major regions and then some hours each in the smaller regions.
i didn't explore much my first playthrough and still put in about 90 hours in my save file before seeing the conclusion.

I'm over a hundred hours and just got to the snowy mountains.

Walked around a bunch in Liurnia. Found a fire thief who one shotted me. Ok. I'll try the lake region. Found some ruins where a big multi arm monster spawned from nowhere, spat poison at me and killed me. Ok. I'll go by the road to the east. Found a blue troll that I simply didn't have the damage to ever kill. I'll take a portal. Ended up at the gates to Raya Lucaria. Got killed by some siege engine spitting fire. Went to a city and found a portal. Finally some ruins where I could survive, but the teleporting mages were annoying. Found a manor. Got brutally murdered by the hands.

I'm not really sure if I'm hitting areas that are too high level or if I just suck.

Level up vigor a bunch. I had this problem till i rellocated a lot of my points to vigor. I was at like 20 vigor by the time i hit the manor. I avoided the main boss at the manor for a while till I had 45 vigor since it kept 1 shotting me prior. For endgame having 60 almost ensures you dont get 1 shotted by most things (still get 2 or 3 shotted tho). I say almost because there are times i do get one shotted if im missing like 25% of my healthbar. So not really sure if that attack would have 1 shotted me with full health.

Oh yeah and upgrade your weapons with smithing stones. You stated you werent doing much damage to a blue troll.

I suppose I should. I just can't decide on what weapons I want to invest in. Hopefully I can get the Carian Sword and the Ice Needle today and see if they're fun. I kinda wanna do a dual wielding build.

Have you done Stormveil Castle and explored south of Limgrave?

But yeah could just be your vigor. I'm in that area and have 21 Vigor and it seems to be okay. A couple of dungeons are a bit tougher than usual but I am a more fragile build.

Summary of vid: Just a long jump exploit using a particular faith spell that stalls you in the air followed by a weapon art that gives some horizontal travel. I actually did try using this particular weapon art to cross a smaller gap one time which didnt work and led to my death. Seems like it might work combined with this particular spell tho.

I'm sure this is old, but aoe ash of war scaled with flame art, or cold is just brutal. Either killing crowds, stun locking some mini bosses/invaders, and overall just doing a truck ton of damage is amazing.

I think today I'm going to go around and collect ashes of war and any other whet stones I might be missing for some insane

Finally exploring Stormveil Castle after 20 hours of playtime. For some reason, I wasn't expecting it to be as massive as it is. Made it to Godrick and I feel like there's entire areas I've yet to explore. I know there's at least one because right across from him is a path guarded by a giant. There are also a few items in the "hidden" route that I couldn't figure out how to get to, most notably that chest + purple above the dining room with the spider.

Just did one quick attempt at Godrick. Very first impression is that he's easier than Margit, but he still killed me in less than a minute. I was able to slice off a quarter of his health in that time though.

I did, yeah. And to be fair, I suspect my vigor is fine. It was only really Adan that properly oneshot me. The rest just overwhelmed me one way or the other. I'm planning on picking up the whip outside the manor, as well as Frozen Needle and Carian Sword. That ought to give me a couple options, although I feel like right now I'm leaning towards a dual thrusting sword build. If I put Hoarfrost stomp onto a second thrusting sword like the Estoc or something, I could try and make a dedicated freeze build. That ought to make up for low DPS weapons right?

I used one of those YouTube guides to speed run getting items/sacred tears/runes to make my character overpowered for the start of the game to try to get better at it. I wasnt doing horrible, its just that I havent had a lot of time to really sit down and grind this and I still want to play the beginning somewhat. It took me awhile to get a control scheme that felt right for me too.

Last, night I cleared Nokron and Siofra Aqueduct. I'm partway through Deeproot Depths.

Yo, screw the boss at the end of Siofra. That was tough. I'm talking about the duo Valiant Gargoyles.

I'm level 81 I think. According to the "reccomended level" thing on the wiki I'm not really OP anymore and I can somewhat feel it. They reccomend going to Deeproot which they list as level 80-90 and Atlus Plateau as 60-80 so maybe I am a little OP for Atlus. Should I do Deeproot first and be more OP for Atlus or just do Atlus now?

So let me get this right on how this combo works.

Have a Blood Sword on left hand and have Ice Axe on right hand. Use frost stomp and it'll build both blood and frost on enemy and eventually proc and do tons of damage?

Id do Deeproot first cuz its a bit smaller and you can get some somber 6 and 7 there

Did dudes find out how exact the co-op summon level range works in this game yet? I'm level 128 rocking a +17 nagakiba and a +6 moonveil and I am being summoned to fight queen rennala. Of course with my weapons+bloody slash the poor lady is getting utterly demolished, lol.

This looks strangely like my character in FF14. Except the armor of course.

Just curious for people that pay attention to the lore. Has there been a quest that ended decently? I cant think of any off the top of my head. Really wanted Millicents to do so.

Nepheli and Kenneth Haight have good endings that aren't in the game lmao (or no one's figured out how to activate them yet, the voice lines exist though). They're just left unfinished. Diallos apparently has a kinda quirky yet wholesome end too that hasn't been figured out yet

Just beat margit =]. I prepped by leveling up to 23 and upgraded my claymore to +5. I waited till margit did his jump or lunge attack combo which leaves him open for like 2 seconds. I then did jump heavy attack which was doing like 230 damage on him everytime. I then rolled away from his following attacks to safety.

Also i did have a few shots of vodka which enabled me to anticipate his slower moving attacks better. When sober i panick roll during this type of situation.

Is there anything important in the Round Table Hold that I should do? I have only been there twice to use the black smith and buy faith spells, and that is it.

Fia's sidequest. Rogier's loredumps are kinda nice but I don't think there's anything missable with him. Nepheli stops by a few times for if you wanna involve her in Seluvis' quest. Oh and Roderika if you care about Spirit Ashes.

Hell I was level 128 like three hours ago or so when I fought that one in the windmill village and he was doing high damage on me, lol. At least with him I was able to fight him as usual but that one right there? Man I wasn't trying to mess with him in close combat.
