Because most of them are troll-bait, and those sorts of topics have always been targets for being closed for pretty much forever, no matter who is making them. It's also worth noting that people with a habit of spamming a bunch of low-content topics one after the other tend to wind up getting modded for it because it's seen as being disruptive and trolly.
