I just want to flag that the cross naginata is a nice weapon. Dashing R2->R1->R1 is a good combo, and it feels good to pivot around with the thrusts and slashes. Damage numbers about equal with the winged scythe with a sacred affinity.

A little slow with stuff like dogs, but a back up straight sword or the Cipher make up for that weakness.

i got that thing and kinda wanted to use it, and that's weird because i'm usually like ew polearms are for wimps.

speaking of spiked things, the star fists are sick. spiked iron balls you punch with, great strength scaling, fast attacks, bleed buildup, can use bloodflame on them for even more bleed, you can parry with them, just a lot going on there

Did Dragonlord Placidusax glitch for anyone else? He stopped moving and attacking when I got him to around 30% health. Wtf

I switched from my Longsword to the Crystal Sword. Same moveset and such, just more DPS.

I kinda want to make a parry God character but Idk how I'd go for bosses I can't parry lol. Also what equips I would need to hunt down. Daggers? Rapiers?

Been at this for 30 minutes but maaaaan its pretty rough as a non-mage level 55. At least I managed to kill one of them my last attempt.

Buckler or parying dagger, Misericorde dagger, dagger talisman, assassin's crimson dagger talisman, crepu's value, blue dancer charm.

hes easier on foot. With a good human summon and always filtering him to the npcs..... easy peasy

You can't parry giants. You can stagger them by hitting their ankles then critical their head or chest.

Huh, I think some sidequests can change your characters appearance. I had gold eyes at the start, now the eyes and eye whites are red.

yeah, significant things you choose will. my character has these sort of molten yellow eyes and charred skin

Finally got Radahn. Damn this mofo was hard as fuck. Got him with horse back archery and the NPC summons weren't complete shit this time.

i never noticed this but the area I'm currently at covers lower and higher ground segments. altho you can't tell from the map. for ex, the four window building is above ground while the area I'm at is below ground. the map can be deceiving lol.

Ah, I think I just waltzed into getting the pvp questline for the permanent invasion finger thingies. The last time I did anything pvp related for souls was in demon's souls when I did like, 9 fights or so, 4 of which was just with my friend. I might get my ass kicked, lol.

Nah, you can fast travel out of the area whenever you want. You also have to re-activate at least one or two graces that still exist there, because I know I had to. Also you're given the choice to start NG+ or not so you can stick around for postgame if you want.

Finally finished the game earlier today. Dont think Ill be doing a second play through for a while at the very least.

I'm amazed streamers and other people are have gotten through this game in a week. I've got 45 hours in it, and the only areas I've covered extensively are the Weeping Peninsula and Limwood. I've barely gone into Luneria.

Im 52 hours in and have discovered most of the map including the underground maps. Just missing the western part of mountain of giants and another underground section.That said i dont look too deeply in each area yet. Was saving it till after i leveled up a bunch real soon lol. There is still a lot left to explore when ot comes to caves/dungeons/forts in each area.

Called myself trying pvp and got obliterated by dudes with I'm assuming late game equipment and I'm assuming pvp builds since the two was camped out on a bridge waiting for the invaders to come, lol. Ah well at least I got that quest out of the way (trying to get to that 1 area for the EXP grind and needed 3 invasions to get that 1 item to do it).

HOLY SHIT Leyndell is no fucking joke.

I don't even wanna do Leyndell, I just want my 4th talisman slot and I want to get to the OP please to farm runes.

Just beat the game. 10/10 that final boss had hp for days though which pissed me off. Also had to keep chasing him around forever which sucked.

Got Draconic Tree Sentinel my second try, mimic really does make things easy sometimes. His fucking lighting one shot me the first time.

I learned the pleasure of the three Putrid Crystalines tonight. :)

The first boss in the game to really annoy me. A mini boss of all things. I'll come back later.

I'm bad at this game but holy crap there are some people who are a lot worse.

For being a half wolf guy, Blaidd by far has the sexiest voice in the game imo tbh

Once I manage to beat this god awful design of a final boss I can tell you now I'm never playing this game again that's for sure.

When you beat the final boss do you go straight to NG+ or you can still stay playing on your first playthrough?

I'm sure I don't know

Okay, I beat Radahn or whatever his name is. Took me three tries. I'll copy and paste my thoughts from a previous post:

I get what they were going for, and I actually do like the concept, but that fight was a little much. First kinda BS boss for me that I've seen people talking about.

As I see it, you've got three options. 1: Ride around and summon NPCs for the whole fight. This is the safest, but it would take forever to do, and is extremely boring. 2: Engage the boss directly the whole time, which would basically negate the NPCs, because they die super fast. 3: Summon a group of NPCs, then ride in for a few fast attacks, then ride away, and repeat, which is what I did.

I just feel like he hits too hard for it to be fun! Maybe this is what people were talking about where they say they die in one or two hits? Two hits would definitely kill me, and I've got 45 vigor, and the heaviest armor I own. All those wild moves he does is crazy.

But I still liked the idea. For this concept to work, I think it should have been a smaller area, and his attacks shouldn't have hit so hard, but maybe he had more health to make the NPCs important. So you'd be running around, having a normal fight, but summoning nearby NPCs to help out too. As it is now, it kinda felt like luck whether I would die or not. Either the NPCs would distract him and I could get a few good licks in (and I did take a lot of damage away with each hit, thank you bloodhound fang), or he'd focus on me and blast me with a ton of different combos I could never hope to memorize.

Edit: I will say I fought him before even touching the altus plateau, so maybe I was supposed to go there first? >_>

My only problem with him was his giant sphere balls that instant killed me in his second phase. I think that's the only BS on him but other than that it was fun.

The sword you get from the final boss remembrance is ridiculous for rune farming for NG+
