I heard that upgrading a weapon to +10 actually makes it weaker due to a bug. Is that true?

no. so far the only bug like this is the Misericorde dagger(shame since it does high damage and has a whopping 140 crit rating). And it's only at the high end of the upgrade. +25 maximum does less damage than +24. And the solution is crystal clear....leave it at +24.

idk, maybe another weapon is bugged like this but i haven't seen it.

Zweihander is poop for bosses but great for mobs. But I regret +6ing it

I'm amazed streamers and other people are have gotten through this game in a week. I've got 45 hours in it, and the only areas I've covered extensively are the Weeping Peninsula and Limwood. I've barely gone into Luneria.

Melee weapons that scale with arcane seem to be bugged by just having arcane scaling. If they worked then Rivers of Blood would probably be a better weapon than Moonveil.

I just farmed up 2 mil souls, and I could bump my Int from 60 to ~80, the scaling for int I noticed slows down after 60 though.

Im horribly tempted to dump 17 lvls into faith so I can use the sword of night and flame. Plus I could cure poison and crimson rot, which would be very nice.

Anyone think that is not horribly stupid and/or if healing would be cost efficient enough at 24 to switch all my flasks over to fp?

Seems fun but I already have myself set it up for azure comet and moonveil pretty nice...

All weapons that scale arcane use to scale with faith and were changed last minute. Arcane scaling itself doesn't work at all for weapon damage.

This is what I mean. Even the physical aspect is broken.

In a recent post on Reddit, one user wrote, "If a weapon is not pure physical and it has arcane as one of its scalings, it will have 0 scaling instead." This supposed bug even affects the physical scaling of the weapon, effectively nerfing it into near uselessness, as it will only have its base stats and ignore your attributes.

I'm so glad the game is a massive success. I'm 50 hours in and I find myself not wanting to finish the game. I don't want it to be over. I know I have a good chunk left. I'm currently going through Volcano Manor. God this place is awesome. This game is so fucking amazing.

fucked myself out of the dung eater quest because i thought you could get an alternate good ending by killing him. you can't. if you reach a point where you need to decide to let the dung eater out, just do it, otherwise the questline freezes permanently

oh and once again, this is the shit i'm talking about. it's not fun, it's not mysterious, i'm not excited to use the wiki to do it right on new game+, i'm just pissed because there's no indication that anything can go wrong until it does, because you didn't check the wiki each and every step of the way

I've beaten all the souls games and I'll be honest, I tend to not spoil anything for myself except NPC's. I meet them, look up their bullet points on the Wiki, try to gloss over so I don't spoil anything but at least always keep tabs on what the immediately next step is. The amount of quests you can fail in esoteric ways is so dumb, and has been in the series since the beginning.

Ive heard the same for the Greatsword (or potentially all Colossal weapons?) that you keep it at +24 instead of +25, until they patch it.

If you see red damage text, stop.

I heard it doesn't show up as red. It looks like it's going up, but in practice your damage goes down.

So Im going back to fight the Crucible Knight, what is the parry timing in this game supposed to be? Dont click exactly as it would hit us, right? A bit before so the parry can come out?

I know what you mean. I accidentally combod Patches to death because I didnt know he was going to give up. Now it looks like I locked myself out of a weapon from a quest reward. So many other games Ive tried have had so many annoyances that Im willing to overlook this one.

I made it to the Four Belfries and unlocked two of the teleportation things

That scenery uh.... tells a story. O_O

I hated the boss in that area. That and the final boss are the only two fights where I caved in and used spirit ashes. It wouldn't be so bad if *Boss Mechanic Spoilers*

she didn't heal herself every time she hits you. Her heal even works through blocking which made it feel atrocious.

spoilers for one of those minor BS catacomb bosses, but look how fast he took out my spirit from full health. apparently spirits bleed.

82.4 hrs played atm, just beat the 4th great rune boss. trying to clear up every NPC quest i can before i move on to the next major story beat. been dicking around procrastinating at the mirror cause i don't wanna go to the sewers. ngl pretty fuckin pleased with this king

I think the worst boss I fought so far is this asshole in that tall Caria Study Hall. That teleporting mfer. How does the magic parry even work? I've done every timing I can possibly conceive of and they didn't work.

I did the method of just sneaking past him, killing all the minions so they don't bother me, then dueling him slowly... then he reaches the second fucking part of the building where he teleports every 2-3 fucking seconds like a little bitch, even being able to shoot his stupid giant arrow right after teleport, which has sneak killed me more than once.

When you try to approach him, he just teleports lmfao. What the fuck even is this? Is this game design? Who was it? Who was personally responsible for this? I want him out here

i climbed up the ladder to the rafters and he fell to his death somehow lmao

there's a round 2 in the "inverted" tower (same thing but upside down), but he can literally just be sniped at range until he dies

haha he pissed me off too but I just came back later. Draw out his goons, pick them off, and listen to the audio que for his big bow attack. Rinse and repeat.

btw, in case anyone doesn't know, while the dung eater quest is on my mind, if you meet a guy called blackguard, do business with him, and he'll start selling unlimited boiled prawn that give you a defense boost, then later he'll move to a pond at the top of the capital city's moat and start selling unlimited boiled crab, which is a bigger defense buff than prawn. a worthy addition to anyone's arsenal, and damn near necessary if you're doing fashion souls.

if for any reason this guy dies, like if you want his drops, only kill him AFTER he sells crab, then his bell bearing will include it and you can shop from the roundtable hold, instead of the pain in the ass area he sits in

Man I've been struggling so much since fire giant. Guessing I just need to grind more. Lvl 89 with 1300 health and a heavy set of armor and I'm getting spanked in like two hits. Last boss I fought was godskin duo

Spent the last two days tooling around in Atlas and the volcano area. Killed a ton of bosses. Explored a lot. Going semi blind through quests and actually finishing a lot all things considered. Mostly just looking up where in a location they're standing if it's not incredibly apparent.

Settled into a simple longsword and great shield build. It's adaptable enough to handle pretty much everything. I want to upgrade one of the big unique weapons to give it a proper try.

I'm using that grafted sword and it's pretty sweet the ability you can do with it boosts your stats and resistances for a short time

Don't rely on it too much because you can't use it for every boss

all you need is boiled crab, in short, time for crab

oleg's my general purpose guy when i want someone who will actively get their attention and fight, pumpkin head's an excellent meat shield, and the stormhawk gives you a nice damage buff when you summon him that will stack with any other damage buffs you apply yourself. those are the three i keep in my pouch
