It was just a general question put out for the game to answer. I'm not sure what answer I was expecting either to be honest. The whole thing felt forced and unproductive so I figured if I brought attention to it maybe something more would come of it.

Okay that's about what I expected.
I was asking because it didn't seem like you were very invested in getting an answer at the time.

This is a weird post. I agree with the Tidus/Scare stuff, but it still reads weird to me.

Also, Sheep's original post didn't sway me per se, but...

People always say I am too serious and I dont see why..
Then again maybe I am more on edge than I think if people also say I am overly defensive.

I do agree that Death's initial reaction to the votes felt a little much, but I'm not sure it's exactly a scumtell, just slightly strange. He's played enough games to know how day 1 normally goes and that goes for whether he's scum or not.

I dont know all who played last game, but given the long time removed, I'm not going to expect anyone to be playing at the level I would have expected them to in the past.

Scare is going against my (very limited) experience with Scum Scare by being active and contributing early on, and his observations sound valid

This is my 3rd game of forum mafia, but I've played a couple hundred games of other deception games like Town of Salem and Among Us and in-person board games like Werewolf. The biggest difference/adjustment of course being the pacing, where a game of each of those last ~30 minutes compared to the slower burn of a forum mafia game lasting 1-2 weeks.

As for the Death stuff, I'm not really inclined to believe any weak scumtell this soon into Day 1. I don't think that you're acting in bad faith in this post either though.

Ah, so you're fairly new to the format but you've played ToS so you know what you're doing. The pacing is obviously quite different, but the last half hour of a day can feel like a game of one of the others (if it's as active as it historically was which is admittedly unlikely).

Their natural thoughts would often reveal them if they posted it, so they would have to make up things that make them seem town and others seem scum

I'll go on to say that Chris as a Scum player would bus when needed to, but his general opinion is that people are dumb and easily persuaded. Strategically, it's better to lynch Town early and overwhelm with numbers and win early than to play a long game. He knows this, as most of us do.

It makes more sense for Chris as Scum to find weak arguments against Scummates and shut them down. It's defensive play.

Ah yes, the good point of "I do this plenty" but then when Chris does "soft defense" which you probably couldn't name a more iconic duo of me and my play in general, it is very sus indeed.

I've played a game with both of them before. From my experience, I've learned not to take any of Corrik's Day 1 actions seriously. As for Han, he likes to push people's buttons early and try to make them uncomfortable to test their reactions. Both of them were town that game, and nothing they've done or said this game feels out of line from what I would expect from them as town. That being said, I've never seen them play scum before, so maybe they play the same way

I was asking someone else to argue for you, not for you to argue for yourself >_>

also I kinda agree but it's not hard to look for things that sound off and point them out, the only thing you have to make up is the logical conclusion that those things mean they're scum. And that's not even something you gotta lie about so early on when the discussion is so surface-level.

That is, fluffy posts in terms of commenting on the game without saying anything.

This really makes me wonder if there's a Chris + Red + Tidus scum team. Because I don't see where Chris is protecting Red.

Its not too unbeilivable, as Tidus was an extremely heavy busser of everyone on his team except Crescent, who he took the opposite approach on and never mentioned once as suspect.

Just seems very bold of him to be pointing out an entire scum team this early.

Disclaimer though - I've never actually seen Town Tidus so there's also the possibility he said Chris was protecting Red simply because he can. This is uncharted territory
