life stuff, after my graduation, i felt like doing my own thing, proving my worth to myself, obviously didnt worked out, years passed, i'm handy in the house but no 'recorded' job experience, can't get a job, pandemic bullshit, pressure of getting old without relationships/own property, getting fat, my height doesnt help, i'm ugly too, nobody wants something to do with me, now i'm just posting shit on gamefaqs, really feels like there's no step in the right direction for me, i don't resort to drugs and alcohol, i just know that those are just a bunch of strings i'll try to hold onto, and i've been feeling sick to my stomach just thinking about things, the fun of video games is long gone, the sound of music is waning as well

Not in over 10 years I am happy to say.

My advice is exercise, fresh food and meditation (listen to music on a good system). It isnt difficult if you see people who are handicap have a hard time getting out of bed on YouTube.

"to everyone making a lot of money, why are you on this site?"

At first I didn't see the correlation, as the amount of money one makes shouldn't suddenly mean that they would stop playing video games and interacting on GameFaqs. Then it hit me. This user thought that the only reason people are playing videogames and using GameFaqs is because they have nothing better to do.

In his mind, he's not using GameFaqs because he "wants to" he's using it because he doesn't feel he has anywhere else to go. I found that interesting.

Depression is my experience.

Was super depressed from age 14-26 but the last 2 years or so I started engaging in better habbits like workout out, talking with family more, being more friendly to other people and my depression basically went away. I guess the cure for me was to just suck it up and become a better person,

I find myself thinking "I just want to disappear" or "I don't want to be me" a lot more often lately, I can't even remember the last time I was legit happy and wasn't faking a smile so people don't think i'm gonna shoot up the place.

yes. mainly for stuff going on my life rather than just innate depression i conjured upon myself like i used to have when i was younger

idk I love life. I wish that I couldnt die and I wish that I didnt need to sleep. My biggest complaint is there just not enough time in the day for me to do things I want

Same. I've been suffering exhuastion for a while now. I'm currently bed ridden, and have been since Saturday trying to get over it. For 12 days straight I was always doing something fun and exciting for every waking minute of my day...so I didn't sleep all that much, and unfortunately that meant that the fun & exciting thing I was doing the next day was much less fun & exciting because of it XD

Totally overdid it. I wish we didn't need to sleep. Or at the very least we could invent some drug to give you another 24 hours of solid restfulness...like that thing from the Pierce Brosman James Bond movie.

I know I've got it, I'm not only sad all the time, it's started to turn into lashing out and getting into stupid internet fights with fucking nobodies' over the smallest shit all because I'm stuck working a job that I hate can't even vent because nobody wants to hear it, can't escaped it because I need it to pay ills and get coverage and above all else said job not only demands a lot of your time they demand you be a perfect little robot capable of giving the same performance every day you're there with no errors, no problems and no flaws and get anal about you showing humanity even now the few free moments I have are rapidly disappearing

I had a job hated for 4 years but stuck around since it was basically funding my internet funny money portfolio. My contract ended and thankfully I told them a billion and 2 times I had zero intention of continuing the job, so I've been unemployed for almost a year. In that time, my cooking skills have gotten better, I exercise regularly to the point where I consistently get up before 5AM to do my exercises, and I'm wrapping up a little project so I can start applying to Web3 jobs by the end of next month, just in time for my savings to run out. I may be poorer than I was this time last year, but I'm happier, healthier, and optimistic of the future.

On top of that, I have a buddy who recently quit his job because he was burnt out and was tired of the stress. He stayed working for half a decade at jobs he hated because he needed health insurance but it got to the point where he couldn't take it anymore as it deteriorated his health even further. After quitting, within a month, he already found himself building skills in networking for another position he's thinking about applying and he's experimenting with solutions to get insurance (while also considering finding a networking position).

I know you have to pay bills, but at least entertain the idea of what would happen if you didn't have your job. It really feels like in our generation, unless we do things extraordinarily well, to get ahead you have to do things differently.

In the "are you a virgin" topic, 60% of CE were self-admitted virgins. Seems to correlate to this post. Hence why my opening post is encouraging users to go out and find a significant other, its very attainable for everyone here, just takes some lifestyle changes, and a bit of bravery.

Those results were somewhat spoiled by the flipped title and topic question, if you're referring to the one I remember.
My memory says ce had much lower virgin rates in previous polls, which makes me even more suspicious of this newer one.

I'm not sure I agree. Obviously being depressed is different from suffering from depression, but life circumstances and trauma can definitely cause one to suffer from depression.

Anyways, yeah, diagnosed and on medication for it. Stopped seeing a therapist after my last one went to a different company and the idea of reestablishing myself with another therapist is just life draining to even think about.

i don't think so but honestly idk anything about depression. like it feels like i could be more happy in my life but acknowledge that i could be more sad. but for some reason people in my life think I'm depressed since I don't really do much with my life. idk, i just don't like most of the things people my age normally do.

I'm not into taking advantage of people and selling something that isn't worth anything. Nor will I advise anyone to just abandon morals to rid themselves of depression. And NFTs are insane little cash grabs built on insanity and immorality. Fuck that entire goddamn worthless little system.

You're selling them literally nothing worth having. Taking advantage of people that are dumber than you is fucking immoral. If you somehow are goddamned deluded enough to believe you're selling something worth value, then you yourself might have an argument that you're doing nothing wrong. But the only people I see selling NFTs know exactly what the fuck they're doing. And you can't justify it to me by hiding behind your bullshit defense or legality equaling immorality. Go read Kantian ethics.

I don't disagree. I don't think NFTs are worth having unless they actually give you benefits, like the ones that allow you into private parties and stuff. But regardless, some people do indeed like to collect them. To them, the NFT has value.

I think crafting swords, and spending hundreds of hours leveling up characters in MMORPG's is a waste of time, and not worth any monetary value...but people still purchase them for lots of money. I accept that its my own personal taste, and my tastes may not be someone's else taste.

All these "live concerts" in fortnite and stuff are insanely stupid to me, but people enjoy and pay for them. So be it.

If a millionaire wants to buy a Bored Ape for 500k, why shouldn't he? If he buying one at the rate then he has no concept of money anyhow. You think if NFTs didn't exist he'd just be donating that money to charity instead?

At least this way artists can get paid. They get a piece of the pie sotospeak. Its much better than the same millionaire just buying a Lambo he's never going to drive, or a yact he's never going to sail. When millionaires purchase NFTs, its basically the people tricking them into donating to charit. Hell, many of the sales themselves actually go to charity.
