GameFAQs is my home. But reddit is where I go to find good computer parts deal, the latest star wars memes, and One Punch Man updates.

So I guess its not too bad.

BTW, i think someone might come in here and say "you can do both. Its not one or the other. You're not cheating on GameFAQs if you go to reddit."

Yes. I'm pretty sure we all know that. I'm just saying I like the atmosphere on GameFAQs more, and I don't like the general atmosphere at Reddit. Reddit is somewhere i go to find very specific things. Whereas I go to GameFAQs for either one of two things, and I don't konw which one it is. Its either I come here because I've been coming here for the past 23 years, or because I like the communities.

I never go out of my way to go to Reddit , but I do occasionally end up there from search results.

i use it on occasion but gamefaqs isnt really comparable tbh

I sometimes find answers I am looking for through a google search but other than that I don't bother with Reddit so I'm indifferent.

If I'm searching for answers to an issue I'm having with a game or technology I'll probably go to reddit. Or if I want some confirmation bias on an opinion I have.

But still, I think gamefaqs is way better and that reddit is an upvote whoring echo chamber.

It is the best of places, it is the worst of places.

You can find communities that are really great and then you stumble across some places that are just flaming dumpster fires.

Until recently I was a power user, but then google stopped supporting apps on my phone, so I only use old.reddit on desktop and I don't spend nearly as much time as I used to.

Not certain if you're talking about reddit or GameFAQ's, could go either way.

I like it to find interesting articles and stuff.

Can't stand the community.

Its really the only alternative to Gfaqs, IMO...its a Msg Board with Social Media type sensibilities

cant stand it, upvote downvote systems incentivise conversation in a way I absolutely hate

Reddit is a cesspool of manipulators.

As a message board system it sucks.

But the upvote / downvote works great for finding relevant answers to questions via google search. That's pretty much the only way I use it.

Their high profile political hottakes are even worse than here, but it's more easily filterable, so as long as you stay off r/all and curate your subs it's a nice experience.

Good for subreddits, because there's practically a subreddit for almost anything. But garbage on a technical level, and many subreddits are ran like shit by those in charge.
