So here is the interesting question. If you got the booster shot right when they were available at the start of September (for any high risk people), it's now been 5 months already. The booster shot was suggested for anyone that finished the original shots 6 months earlier. Well it's almost been 6 months now since I got my booster shot.

So the question is......do we need another one? If we do, when will they first be available?

It seems to me that if you need a booster 6 months after the initial shot, then the shot probably wears off or stops being as effective after 6 months. Thing is, they focus is still on getting people to get the LAST booster shot, nobody is even talking about people who got it 5 months ago getting another one In March.

Are those of us who got the booster shot early going to be screwed because of it?

Not heard much about another shot, other than that they are still in development. However, I remember hearing that the 2nd shots effectiveness starts to wane around 3 months, and is pretty minimal after 6 months.

I recall also reading an article which stated that for each subsequence dose, your immunity is stronger, and lasts longer. So that should hopefully buy us some time to finish the first booster vaccine before starting the second.

Last I heard, the earliest Omicron-specific vaccine will be hitting shelves in March, but I expect they'll probably stick with a six-month recommendation for further boosters unless Omicron turns super-deadly and an accelerated dosage timeline becomes absolutely necessary.

Yeah, I did some research and it seems like a few other countries are already providing them but US doctors are not sure if they are needed yet and are waiting for more evidence lol.

Thank you US doctors. You saw how good waiting till last minute worked this time and decided to double up!!
