She's a new doctor and wasn't comfortable with me being on pain killers for 3 pituitary tumors and clonazepam for anxiety. So she said I'd have to see even more specialists and she would prescribe 2 months worth

Tomorrow one is due and after five phone calls she still hasn't prescribed anything, which is blatant medical malpractice. The answering service said that they can't prescribe narcotics on a weekend and I might be in the er tomorrow. I'm lucky in the sense that it isn't my clonazepam that's due at least. I could have literally died if it was.

I'm going to do everything I can to make sure she can never do this again. She also lied in front of her attending who said three months. She said three to him after he said that and went back to two months after he left the room.

Tldr: My new doctor is a jaded bitch who purposely lied in front of her attending, lied to me, and could have killed me by failure to prescribe me medicine I need. All of which is insanely blatant medical malpractice

At the very worst, malpractice. That even seems like a huge stretch. Doesn't seem to fit any definition of "murder" (medically speaking, of course)" from what I can tell.

You seem frustrated and I can understand that, but suing her would be a huge waste of time I'd guess.

As far as I understand it, wrongfully prescribing or not prescribing medicine is medical malpractice. Especially if it causes emotional or mental harm to someone. And by that I meant I could have had a seizure if it was different by chance.

I mostly just want her fired for this. She could kill someone like this.

I'm not just requesting she do this. This was her decision and she fucked up hard. I want you to be nice and calm after getting treated like garbage and fucked over by some jerk after you've had brain surgery three times.

Iatrogenesis, especially for doctors is a big case.
But since she's a new doctor that is new to the field...
It might be easier to prove in court, but you'll still need a good lawyer who can call her out on her bs and make her crack.

Doesnt mean the combo isnt deadly and requires input from someone who specializes in such things and has an eye on your specific case

Last I saw, evidence that taking opiates for months, much less years, is effective pain management wasnt hitting on much vs other means

it sounds more like this doctor doesnt agree with what your prior care giver was doing.

maybe shes trying to eliminate opioid dependency because in the past 14 years the view of opioids has changed dramatically.

For all we know, the doctor did explain that to him but he failed or purposely chose to withhold that information in that story.

As I said she told me that she would prescribe this month and the next. She had me find a psychiatrist, which I did(to get another opinion on anxiety and clonazepam) and a headache specialist to get off Opioids if possible

I agreed, and then was also briefly lied to by the attending that stopping clonazepam after 14 years would not change any brain function and there was 0 reason or science to think that.

After that which she said she would prescribe them and we'd basically go from there. I call her jaded because out of all my doctors who are specialists, she views them all is wrong (including my neurosurgeon who is top to in the country, or was. Dr. Walter hall) along with other various doctors.

I honestly don't know what she was thinking or if she had an off day, but not only did she treat me like a drugy with a lot of disdain and presumptions, but she didn't even bother to prescribe the medicine. She knew when they were all do and everything, I had told. Maybe she did slip up and forget, but after 7 phone calls, it feels like malice and still hurts me. They also lied on the phone multiple times about prescribing it. Made different excuses before it was too late and I just got an answering service that couldn't do anything.

In my head, a lot has to go wrong for this to be one massive mistake, which still wouldn't be right.

I cannot form an opinion since I wouldnt be able to get the doctors side to this story.

I've been on a lot of opiates for years and without going into detail have occasionaly had to deal with incredibly unhelpful people in healthcare. Many wonderful ones too of course. You have my sympathy and I hope things work out for you.

This is why I hated working in nursing/rehab. Addiction is a killer and brings out the worst in people.

I dont know anything about the topic but as a good CEMan I'll speak out of my ass. If you already confirmed with multiple other doctors and they approved but only this new doctor is saying no, then it does seem like she is the wrong.

Im in the middle of something similar. I hurt my back at work, fractured my L5 on my S1 I believe(its been a few months). Anyways, I had high blood pressure when I went to my works Doctor. He prescribed me 800mg ibuprofens and to his surprise, my blood pressure went up over the course of 6 weeks. I went to my PC physician and she says he was well aware of my high blood pressure and still put me on a medication that would raise my blood pressure.

The work DR put me in a situation where I could have a stroke or heart attack. Thankfully Im back to normal but damage had already been done.

While its not the same Id recommend looking into Delta 8 products. Its all naturally derived from hemp/cannabis and is legal at federal level thanks to the farm bill but still check your local laws.

You don't need opiates or benzodiazepines to live. However, OP is addicted to those medications now so withdrawing from them can be life-threatening. The other doctors and specialists fucked him by having him be on those medications for 14 years.

If the doc wants to take OP off their current medications that should be a discussion they have, not the doctor continually leading OP on.
