They were worried I wouldnt come back so they promoted me and gave me a $25k raise. I took it then and at the end of my leave I took another job for an additional $50k pay bump. Fuck my old job. The job I went to was a Service Dispatcher job for a company supporting HP server hardware and software. I left that after 4 months because the company was organized like a dumpster fire and eventually the entire team left. Now I'm back to working from home as a Service Desk Admin, doing 4 hours of actual work per day and making more money than I had at any of my previous jobs. Getting valuable IT experience as I study for certs and the company is pretty damn laid back. I am glad that this is happening overall though, but from a myopic perspective, it's somewhat meh to me currently. I think things will escalate quite a bit in a couple years when more baby boomers get out of the game, or at least become extremely reduced in scope.
