According to reports in the area, the teenage brothers killed the stepfather for allegedly sexually abusing their 9-year-old sister. Alejandro and Christian Trevino, 18, are both accused of severely beating Gabriel Quintanilla, 42, and leaving him to die in a southern Texas field, according to KGBT News. Quintanilla was reportedly found by a farmer and had apparent severe blunt force trauma to his head. A friend of the Trevino brothers, Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18, was also reportedly involved in the fatal beating and has has also been charged. Police say a minor, later identified as a 9-year-old girl, made an outcry about being inappropriately touched by Quintanilla in an RV park, according to KRGV News. When brothers (Alejandro) and Christian Trevino found out, they became enraged and confronted Gabriel Quintanilla at the residence. A physical fight ensued between the three and the victim Quintanilla left the location on foot, KRGV News reports Pharr Police Department saying in a news release. If they're just going to get revenge for that act after the fact, it's just murder no matter how much he morally deserved it. They can maybe argue for the lightest murder sentence in lieu of a harsher sentence considering why they killed him, but it's murder nonetheless in those circumstances. There should be some consequences for them though. It would have been best to beat the fuck out of him and take him to the cops. If the scenario had been something along the lines of he was arrested and tried and got off somehow, I could see justification for just finishing him off yourself.
