Respect for only pulling for characters you're interested in, but she'd be a great unit in a Ganyu freeze comp for Abyss.

Yeah, Id rather have Mona personally if I can ever get her. Only one of the general pool 5*s I dont have still :(

Disappointing in the sense that I have C6 Fischl and Diona, and no interest in using Thoma. But we haven't seen Fischl in so long that I'm not the least bit upset there. As for the other two, is Mihoyo trying to tell us that Yae needs a shield?

For the most part it sounds like Yae is kinda like a turret Fischl I think? I feel like basically everyone on my team needs a shield so its no different for me if she does need one. Im planning to have her set up her turret things and then use Yoimiya as the main DPS probably with Diona or Noelle since theyre my best shields. One day Zhongli. One day you wont be close to banners I care more about :(

For whatever reason Im not too interested in Raiden even though shed go well with a lot of what I have. I almost got her on her first run, but missed the chance to summon a last time when I was at like 74 pity. I dunno who I even want after Yae since leaked models of other characters couldve changed a bunch since then. Mostly just collecting 4*s at this point. That Noelle in the shop is tempting since Id finally have my damn C6 if I grabbed it.

I mean more Thoma sounds good to me, I missed him the first time and his cons are great. But I started 6 months ago, I don't know what established players even want from the 4* lineups.

With Beidou in the shop this month and Yun Jin from the event I will only be missing three 4*s: Thoma, Sayu, and Rosaria. I don't have a pressing need for any of them (honestly, I mostly want Sayu for rolling and butterflies), but I do want to complete the set. For cons I'll take almost anyone - the only C6 I have to dodge is Barbara and Xiangling is dangerously close at C5. They LEAPT the fuck out at me during Itto banner in which I got 0 Gorou cons, which I am salty about.

Also with Beidou I will have every character in the Starglitter shop and can start spending on fates. I should have enough primos for one pity 5* by the time Yae is done so my current plan is to hit the 50/50 and then enter saving mode for Dendro/Baizhu (aka fucking never), or failing that Venti or something.

If you use her, and you don't foresee her being on a meaningful banner any time soon, it seems like a good investment. What else will you use that starglitter on? A blackcliff weapon? 5 random wishes?

I've only bought a character out of the shop once that I can recall, but they're generally good investments assuming you aren't still gathering enough 4* weapons to go around.

A single copy of everything, and then constellations where they count. Since virtually nobody uses Thoma, his constellations are meaningless. His shield mechanic is interesting, but ultimately clumsier to use than someone like Diona, and he's not adding a ton besides.

If you want a more specific list of what the launch players want to be rocking, generally I'd say:
Beidou C2
Bennett C1, but possibly not C6
Xiangling C4
Xingqiu as many as possible

On tier 2, I'd offer:
Diona C6
Fischl C6
Noelle C6
Sucrose whatever you can get

Noelle doesn't see enough usage to justify being on that list, but the fact that it makes a tremendous enough difference to her performance is enough to justify listing that con. I'm also overlooking other characters that do see some use, like Rosaria, Kaeya, Ningguang, etc.

True enough. Ill likely grab it because Noelle is pretty much always on my team. As for 4*s I mostly just want Cs for stuff I use or like the design of. Like Id have been fine with Sara being on Yaes banner, but theyre gonna save her for the Raiden rerun for sure. Like Ill pretty much never care when the featured 4*s are stuff Ive maxed out or are characters I just dont use ever like Chongyun & Razor.

Oh, I thought Hu Tao liked Thoma for some reason. Oh well. I'm kind of interested in him for pyro resonance my goofy Yanfei team, but that's also because I have two Pyro-heavy teams and only one Bennett. I guess he's not very appealing with a roster that can avoid that issue.

Are Xingqiu cons so good they're worth saving glitter for? I still only have C0.

Hu Tao can use Thoma, but she can also use Zhongli or Diona. The only real advantage IMO for Thoma is pyro resonance...which is not very helpful on Hu Tao since she has very little of her ATK coming from her base. Technically, if you can get it up to max, Thoma's shield is stronger than Diona's and has better uptime, but ultimately the only time I've heard of someone using him after his release is because they like him as a husbando.

Man I am getting screwed by quest requirements for this event

First Ganyu's story quest (which I opened but hadn't started) interfered with the Interlude chapter because of a secretary. Had to progress it.

Then Hu Tao's story quest needed to progress two quests because the Ferrylady npc in front of the funeral parlor was gone during it

THEN, because I progressed her quest earlier, Ganyu's quest made me unable to talk to Madame Ping. I advance her story until the event opens again. I talk to Madame Ping. Ganyu does not appear in this cutscene. Why was she blocking me???

Now Ganyu is unavailable again. And also I am seeing a notification I've never seen before - a LOCATION is involved in some sidequest I had picked up.

Look, I get that I've been bad about clearing my quest log and most people don't have this issue. But what the absolute hell is with this NPC quest conflict system, it makes no sense.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and it is annoying as shit. I hadn't gotten as far yet as needing to do Hu Tao's quest. I had planned to make a push tomorrow, but maybe I just won't bother.

Unfortunately the free 4* and the later stages of the firework forging thing seem to tied to completing the event story so I'm just trying to push through this maze of quests.

looking at the leak's of yae miko's kit she actually looks really fun (although i'd be running her as sub-dps) but i must not stray from saving for raiden shogun. maybe i can pick up yae miko in 6 or 8 months from now on a rerun. i assume she'll be really popular and likely get a rerun a bit earlier than some of the other 5 stars?

I think the more accurate analysis is that they've been doing 2 per banner without upping the rate of new characters, so they are flying through the reruns. We're going to start seeing Inazuma characters and second reruns very soon. Put that way, the only thing preventing a rerun of a newer character is Mihoyo forcibly wanting to prevent new characters from reappearing too soon so the FOMO remains a viable factor in spending decisions.

I feel like Inazuma mightve ended up with the least amount of characters I was interested in, but its been a great region still. Now that my Noelle is C6 I should probably try to get ideal artifacts for her too even though I have basically 0 of her ideal partners I think oops

I finally finished all the lantern rite stuff, times two, yesterday. I feel like they removed the quest restrictions, because I could suddenly just cut to the end of the sequence with my alt.

I have Fischl crowned, so...

I am down to 157 Fates now. I lost a somewhat early 50:50 that finally got me Mona!!! I got my guaranteed Yae. I also got 3 Thoma (C2 since he was new), a fucking ton of Fischl past C6 and dumb Lions Roar swords and a 5th C for Diona. My 5 monthly Acquaint Fates got me C1 Bennett. Good shit today.

Theres an upcoming girl supposedly for 2.7 whose design I love, but shes apparently another bow user.

I took the 50/50 on Yae, got C1 Keqing instead (plus two fischl's and a diona). Keqing is my primary carry right now though, so it's not all bad, although her constellations barely provide anything. Would've preferred my first copy of Mona or Jean though.

Saving my guaranteed roll for Raiden banner now, only three weeks to go!
