Who still complains about imagine dragons?

They are the 2010s version of Nickleback. Their first album was good though

They create catchy anthem pop songs that stick in your head immediately. I dont like them that much but I get the appeal

normally i would trash the hell out of them but i actually enjoyed the theme song they made for Arcane with JID.

• 50 out of that group like thing B at a 10/10 enthusiasm level. It's their favourite thing. The other 50 like thing B at a 1/10 enthusiasm level. They find it revolting.
• Thing A is therefore more popular than thing B, even though no one really likes thing A, and many people LOVE thing B.

I'm sure there's some clever statistics term for this phenomenon.

It's interesting to go through the list of "perfect" tomato movies and discover that very few people actually thought it was more than milquetoast decent

Because pop music is chemically engineered to be catchy and that's enough for the lowest common denominator consumer.

The tomato meter is stupid straight up. I'm one of those anal consumers that actually goes into click on the reviews and read them and many of them don't give scores and don't say like / dislike or any summary of the sort but they evaluate the movie on individual merits and flaws and someone at RT is digesting this and arbitrarily assigning rotten / fresh even though the review critic said nothing of the sort.

That's true and it's a problem but conversationally, I actually prefer this system to say...Pitchfork's, which has the fucking audacity to assign fractional points to an entire body of work. Like, "this album by artist X is a 6.3 album. I put it behind artist Y who I gave a 6.4".

In general when it comes to art, I like thumbs up/thumbs down as opposed to points.

Because Imagine Dragon deez nuts is a funny joke.

I don't like them one bit. I even don't like the Arcane theme as a song on its own. But in combination with the footage it does an amazing job as as a theme song

Not in all cases. Some aren't submitted and Rotten Tomatoes has staff that goes out and gets it and arbitrarily assigns a value.

There's no regulation or law against it. They tried to pass one called a link tax but it failed.

Huh, I've never heard that. I got to imagine that is less relevant for new movies and moreso for pre-internet movies.

And that would be a very specific law to pass for the most minor of problems.

The record industry created them, if I had to guess... Straight to radio. Idk though that's just always a possibility

I love that song. It's simple and catchy, but the lyrics are actually about Dan following his dreams. Just a middle finger to the haters that said he couldn't

Plus, on a good sub-woofer, that bass slaps.

They were tolerable enough for like 2 albums, but then it got really bad. Thunder is one of the worst songs in the past 10 years. They're down to AJR tier. I don't know who this music is for.
