Not resisting is not a guarantee of survival of an interaction with the cops. People die in custody all the time, people get shot while complying. Stop acting as if it does.

I never implied that certain circumstances you mentioned didn't exist. But I'm not quite sure why you're bringing that up regarding my post or even the nature of this specific case.

Are you implying that it's okay to resist arrest and fight back against officers that have made a decision to arrest someone?

From my perspective, most encounters with police that result in death involve people resisting arrest and/or posing a safety risk. Criminals that don't want to be apprehended, essentially.

Maybe you have a different perspective??

I agree. Almost always scenarios such as these are because people forcibly resisted arrest and created a hostile environment. When the police make a decision to arrest someone and put the cuffs on them, that's the end of the story. They're going to jail. There's no negotiating after that, they've made their decision and if someone tries to fight them, bad things are probably going to happen. I never understood the whole, "That person could have been me". I always want to reply, "Do you plan on resisting arrest, too?"

Daniel Shaver complied with officers and was still shot dead. There was a literal nurse, on the fucking ground with his hands out and the cop still shot him and said I dont know when asked why he did it.
