Very surprised at the ruling, but I'm extremely happy to hear about it.

I've been deeply ashamed as a lifelong MN resident to see so many high profile killings by police officers in my state, but I find their guilty convictions to be very encouraging moving forward.

Those cops shouldn't have even been fighting him. The whole stop was over an air freshener, which apparently is illegal in that state for some reason. It was a minor thing. Why the fuck did it cause 2 cops to be trying to pull a man out of his car?

Surprised but happy she was punished. Normally they trip over themselves to explain why it's acceptable for police officers to fuck up. Meanwhile an average joe could be shot dead for sneezing, and well that's their fault for making 'sudden movements'.

The air freshener was only one thing. He didn't have a driver's license. There was no insurance on the car. Plates weren't legal. He had a bench warrant out, something to do with having a gun illegally, and there was also a restraining order on him. There was a female in the car with him and they wanted to be sure she wasn't the one who had the restraint out on him.

But I agree, senseless death and poor choices by the cop who shot him. She deserves accountability, which looks like she will get.

Its completely in good faith. Look at the cops who got away with a questionable shooting. None of them fell to the ground crying, oh god, I screwed up. Arguably she entered her own guilty plea on the road that day. If the cop who shot Jacob Blake had fell on the ground screaming, oh god, I didnt mean to shoot him that many times then wed probably have seen a trial and guilty verdict there too. Her own emotions sank her case from the start.

I hate to say it, but being a good person got her a guilty verdict. I know thats not the message anyone wants to take away from this. It feels wrong. It feels dirty. But its true. If she had kept it together at the scene and been like, I changed my mind at the last minute and did what I had to do to save my partner who was in danger of being dragged to death by the car then she might have walked.

Its not that embarrassing. This wasnt some racist cop killing kids. It was legit screw up. Theres probably more than a few cops asking themselves if the job is worth it if one mistake is going to doom their lives forever. I mean, I wouldnt do the job.

That mistake cost someone else their life.

Yes, the mistake was made, and she killed someone because she made that mistake. So, the manslaughter charges are justified.

Its really annoying to see but a mistake is going to ruin her life! when her mistake literally took someones life.

Like if a doctor was like whoops, I made a mistake and operated on the wrong person and killed them, you wouldnt be crying about hur dur mistake cost them their life and career! Why are cops a special class that can make as many mistakes as they want both on and off the job without reprecussion?
