My grandma died in a car crash but she was wearing her seatbelt. Obviously they don't work, why are seatbelts mandated again!!!???

I understand the reasons but I dont think those reasons matter to those who arent getting vaccinated anyway. A mandate doesnt seem to be the way to get them to figure out that getting a vaccine is the right thing to do.

If they were capable of being convinced then a mandate wouldnt be necessary to begin with. Thats the whole point of a mandate.

We already know those answers. That's not the point. I would never feel comfortable forcing a healthcare decision on someone. It should be up to the individual to decide what to do with their body and how they come to that conclusion.

so you never went to public school? Youve had healthcare decisions pushed on you your entire life. The FDA decides and regulates what can be in your food and drugs that you consume.

It's an obvious answer that you're not going to listen to: something like 95% hospitalized are unvaccinated, the vaccine lessens the symptoms, you have a very very slim chance of dying from Covid while vaccinated as opposed to unvaccinated, and vaccinated can still spread it but mostly to those that are unvaccinated.

Yes, symptoms are currently less severe if youre vaccinated, but it seems like the vaccine mandate is a bit moot at this point.

Because, like everyone has already said, the goal of a vaccine isn't to prevent you from getting whatever ailment it's indented to fight, it's to protect you from severe symptoms should you happen to get it.

For example, we all (unless you're anti-vaxx) got the measles vaccine as a child. There's a pretty good chance at sometime our another you were infected with the measles virus, but the vaccine works so well, that you went through it symptom free.

That's what they are slowly working towards with the Covid vaccines and boosters.

Which is why the Delta and Omnicron variant, while more easily spreadable (which I think is more a result of things being more opened up than they were last year), the symptoms aren't nearly as severe as the original strain of Covid.

The more people that get vaccinated/boosted, the weaker and weaker the mutations will get, to the point that it will either be undetectable in most or, at worse, you'll feel a little "off" for a day or two, like getting the common cold.

Isn't it funny how those in power CHANGED the definition of vaccine to push whatever agenda they have. They really needed to name their shot something else since everyone knows that vaccine means:

"a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease."

So what these shots are really doing is making you tolerate the virus easier and isn't guaranteed to stop death (reminded of the elderly couple who had their shots and died HOURS from each other from Covid).

Not to mention that those who have the shots can STILL spread the virus...yet it's the anti-vac people who are to blame. Until an actual solution is made to STOP the spread, everyone needs to mask up and social distance...and the stupid U.S. needs to do an actual shutdown.

So, are the unvaccinated patients overwhelming hospitals and medical professionals, yes or no?

What they did was call it a vaccine too early, but there was really nothing else they could call it.

That's why we all needed a booster, and will probably need a few more before they get tot he point where they have a fully functional one-shot-for-life vaccine.

Also, to a vast majority of people, that's what the vaccine is actually doing. A LOT of vaccinated people are being exposed to Covid and not getting it.

Uhh, what? No one changed the definition of vaccine, and a vaccine is exactly what these shots are.

Fair, but that's a semantic change. There are varying degrees of immunity. No vaccines we have ever made are perfect, and the covid vaccines were never advertised as being perfect, even with the original strain they were made for.

I really dislike the idea of rewording things just because dumb people refuse to understand it. Even with "protection" being inserted in the definition instead of "immunity," people still think vaccines for other viruses have 100% efficacy.

Once again, vaccines are to lessen the severity of symptoms, not to provide immunity outright.
